Great location walking distance to coffee, trails, well stocked grocery store. Sat in the swing chair reading. A bonus of fantastic fireworks viewed from the lovely neighbors yard across the street!

Close to everything

We loved the quietness of the neighborhood and it's close proximity to everything in Custer. It's 2 blocks to the grocery and 3 to 6 blocks to all of the shopping and restaurants. We didn't move the car the whole time we were there.

This house met all of our needs. It is a clean, small, older house in a quiet neighborhood and a good location. We would rent again.

Cleanest lodging we have ever had! Mine included!

This is a very old little house, in a great location, very quiet neighborhood and the cleanest lodging I have ever had. I have lodges myself and pride my self on their cleanliness but Teresa puts me to shame. We will definitely be back!

Cute cottage

We stayed for 2 nights. This cottage had everything we needed. We got in during evening so brought food to grill and spent most time on covered outdoor patio. Coffee pot available for morning (bring your own coffee). Very comfortable sleeping accommodations. Near the attractions we wanted to see. Would stay again.

Custer, SD, Location, Location, Location!

We loved staying here! It was the perfect home base. Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Needles Highway, and Iron Mountain Road were all very close. Deadwood is about an hour away. We even made a day trip to Badlands National Park. The cottage is just a few blocks from all the downtown shops and restaurants, and the grocery store is a block away. Teresa was just next door to answer any questions. The kitchen is well-stocked in the way of pans, utensils, and dinnerware. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Quaint Little Old Fashioned House

Custer SD is the perfect place to stay to be able to see all there is to see of historical significance. We found this cute little house, decorated in 1950's decor; when I walked in, I asked if my grandma was home! It is well appointed with what you would need for a two people staying for a few nights. There is a wonderful NEW washing machine and dryer, just what we needed halfway through our vacation. The only thing lacking was an automatic dishwasher; turned out to be either my husband or me! The bed was very comfortable and our hostess was very accommodating and friendly. I'd recommend this particular cottage for only 2 people though. Thanks for the lovely stay, Teresa!

Clean but cigarette smell

Conveniently located for Black Hills sightseeing. Kitchen very well stocked with useful items - you could make Thanksgiving dinner here if you want to. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke when we arrived. It dissipated somewhat after wee aired and turned on the heat, but remained. The house was very clean otherwise, with new carpet and drapes. The water heater is in the corner of the bedroom.

Totally comfortable and charming, and right in the middle of the Black Hills!

Crook Street cottage is in a lovely little residential neighborhood right in downtown Custer. Very accessible to all of the sites we wanted to see, and Teresa and Vic were so very welcoming! The cottage itself is very roomy and extremely comfortable and as clean as it can be! The back deck with the grill is lovely for an evening of dinner and fun and friendship! And, as a true bonus, Vic has the greatest collection of old tractors you'll ever see in your life!! They are so incredible to see, and he is so proud of them! I actually got to ride one… A 1956 Case tractor… We rode up and down the streets of Custer and I have never had such a great time! Teresa and Vic are great hosts and you will never go wrong staying at Crook Street cottage! 🚜🚜🚜

Great location.

This little house is located so that you can walk to almost anything of interest in Custer. The house is super cute and clean. We had a couple of issues- it got quite cold overnight and the bedrooms, especially were cold. The heater is in the living room, so to get heat in the bedrooms, all doors must be left open. The blankets provided were not that warm. Also, no heat in the bathroom and the towels are very small or old and thin. We also had a problem locating the house as the link.in the email from the manager did not work. A phone call to the manager didn't receive a response until we had driven around town for a while. We did enjoy our time there and in Custer.
