This was a nice little property, which was well maintained and modern. A good base to explore the coastal path, the Tarka Trail, Bideford & surrounding area. Ideal for a short stay.
Lovely property. Back roads are a but tricky if you come across oncoming traffic, but that's the countryside for you. Not too secluded with other barns on site.
Loved the property, beautiful location, quiet with gorgeous views. Spotlessly clean, fully equipped for a stay. Lots of walks with varying degree of abilities. Host fabulous. Our two dogs came with us and we were able to let them into the garden which was secure.Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Nice little house, quiet location.
Beautiful walks across the field for sea views.
Def stay again
Would have been great to be able to recycle stuff but the bin was locked.
Aside from a few issues gaining access, which the host sorted out, the cottage was lovely. The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed, the rooms were fresh and clean and the beds and sofas comfortable. Outside had a nice garden with seating and the post and rail fencing was supplemented with chicken wire to stop pets escaping.
Overall a really great place with no noise - it’s far from the hurly burly, and offers everything you need.
This is a lovely barn conversion in a beautiful area. You ideally do need a car though as the property is a little way from the local village but it is very peaceful and within stunning countryside. We will definitely book again.
Super easy booking and lovely stay. We had a very effective communication with the owner/ property manager. My family (incl the dog) had an amazing time here.
Beautifully presented cottage, very clean and well equipped.
It would have been helpful on arrival to know that Driftwood is barn number 10. If that makes it sound like Driftwood is just one of a complex, well in a way it is, but is also set apart with uninterrupted views.
It is wise to read the description carefully. There is no mention of a hair dryer, because there is no hair dryer. Unusual these days, I know, but I always check so came prepared. 'Toilet roll' means exactly that. Just the one. But we interpreted 'towels available' as, oh dear, we forgot to ask for them so brought our own, just in case, but they were in fact provided. And very nice they were too.
But we were a bit disconcerted after cooking our evening meal on the first evening to find nothing for washing up apart from a J cloth and various unsuitable cleaning products. To be fair, nothing was promised. Come prepared!
But these are minor quibbles. We stay in self-catering places several times a year, both in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, and Driftwood is among the best we've stayed in. SO much to like. The lovely terrace gets the sun from morning right through to 6pm in March, and undoubtedly much, much later as the year progresses. And then, as far as we can tell, the skies are dark enough for glorious displays of stars. Sadly, only our first night in residence was clear of clouds, and coincided with a full moon so bright it blasted out almost everything else.
The chilly March nights meant that the efficient wood-burner was very welcome, and we were so impressed with the 'Flamers' provided that we bought a pack on our way home for our own wood-burner.
It's a lovely place. Go there. Book now. Take a toilet roll.
Lovely place very well equipped kitchen , very comfortable bed, cosy wood burner for those cool evenings, secure garden for our dog ideal situation for coastal walks. The owner was VERY helpful, we will return!!!!! Loved the place
Lovely spot, good accommodation although for 4 adults the 2 single beds were small. Well-equipped kitchen and generally everything we needed.

Lovely location but small
The cottage was in a lovely location but too small for 4 people. This wouldn’t have been as much of an issue if the weather was better but it stormed (understatement) for most of our stay. We also had trouble with the oven and stove which again, because we were indoors, was problematic for teenage girls who wanted to be creative. Wi-Fi was good.
A compact but perfectly fitted out holiday cottage in a very remote and private setting. Beautiful country walks along the headland path and close enough to many Devon and Cornish villages by car. We stayed here for two weeks and loved every minute, beach by the day then back home for a BBQ in the garden, perfect.
