When we moved here, there was just a beach, a gorgeous end of the road, remote beach.
The town of Cambutal is an easy bike ride away.
Cambutaleños are very proud and happy people. They work very hard and love a good junta, that means party! Many of our locals surf, fish, raise families and enjoy a relaxed way of life.
Back in 2008 there wasn't any electricity on the beach. There wasn't a paved road. There weren't restaurants. There was absolutely nothing except for gorgeous nature and a fabulous tiny town inland filled with the most welcoming of local residents.
And yes, there has been much change in our area, but I am proud to say that the residents are still welcoming and the nature is still beautiful, only now we have delicious restaurants, cafes, boutiques, yoga classes, arts and craft locations, and eco minded adventure tour groups to mention just a few exciting developments.
Many of the new businesses are owned by some of the young kids that we met when we first moved here who are now adults, creating a new life for themselves in our community.
Other business owners or new residents are Panamanians or expats, who, all upon coming here the first time, absolutely loved this place, bought and have built an incredible life here.
