About this property

The Pines - a holiday cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Tucked into the Bradda hillside overlooking Port Erin in the south of the Isle of Man, The Pines is sufficiently removed from the village to provide a private, idyllic feel yet close enough for easy access to shops and eateries by leisurely stroll or a two minute car journey.

An open plan arrangement containing the lounge, kitchen and dining area is complemented by a rustic wood burning stove to ensure a relaxed stay. Two separate sliding doors gives the area flexibility, enabling the use of the decking area for outdoor dining. Comfortably sleeps 4, with both bedrooms boasting en-suites. Linen & towels are provided, washing & ironing facilities are available as is use of the extensive woodland garden where you can enjoy superb views of Port Erin and the Calf of Man to the south, and Fleshwick to the north.
The Pines sits atop of Port Erin, a small seaside town with lots going on, particularly during the summer months. Why not take a boat trip to the Calf of Man or a coastal cruise? Or paddleboarding, kayaking or sailing within the sheltered bay. Rowany Golf Course, an 18 hole links course is also close by. For food and drink there is a growing choice of restaurants and bars. Local favourites include Bradda Glen restaurant, the stylish, artisanal Foraging Vintners, and the Bay Hotel for a traditional pint of local ale.

Fabulous

We loved every moment of our stay at "The Pines". The bungalow was very comfortable and even more spacious than it looks on-line. it was well equipped, the beds were great, quality fittings throughout and located in beautiful settings overlooking Port Erin and Port St Mary. Great choice of shops and eating places within easy reach. Convenient parking adjacent and whilst we were there, plenty of sunshine to sit outside and enjoy the views. Could not have wished for anything more.

Stayed for 1 week May 2023 as two couples. The cottage was superb, well equipped, clean and spacious. Situated in a tranquil setting with sea views but a short drive into Port Erin for food etc. Would highly recommend.

Amazing space and location

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Good layout and spaciousness of the cottage plus views from garden was just stunning. Brilliant location being able to walk from The Pines to beach, village and hills . Really considerate host and loved details such as wine and chocs. A very minor detail - it would have helped to have more mugs and plates etc to save hand washing, but overall a great place to stay. Thanks Gaye, we loved it.

Back in the IOM

We really enjoyed our week at The Pines. Everything was just as we like. The peace and tranquillity was marvellous, the views breathtaking. The house was well furnished, the beds really comfortable, home from home. We enjoyed excellent local produce from Shoprite and found eating out not too intimidating! Rediscovery of old haunts brought back lots of happy memories and our trip to the Calf of Man will take some beating. The walk up to the house is a very good cardio work out and the footpath via the golf course is a bit overgrown!

IOM, The Pines, Port Errin

We enjoyed a wonderful week in fine weather. We particularly liked touring off piste on pothole free quiet roads, taking in vast, scenic views. Coastal and glen walking were a treat, but you need to be fit. The IOM combines history, culture and friendly people with a noticeable, quirky sense of humour. A charming house in a lovely setting. Friendly hosts, in particular, Dave the dog who likes to visit. Port Errin is a great base to explore the rest of the island, close to Spanish Head, Milners Tower and not far from the TT route (if that's what interests you). We suggest that the propery would benefit from extra tea towels, cups and plates etc.and maybe another toilet roll for each en-suite. Other than that, ten out of ten.

A gem amongst the pines

Wonderful four night stay in The Pines in Port Erin, the cottage was beautiful with everything you could possibly need, clean and so comfortable, the owners Gaye and John were so welcoming and were there if you needed them, they even went over and above for our comfort and stay. If you want a comfortable, clean and well equipped place to stay in the IOM then The Pines is a must. The cottage is beautifully situated among pines trees with wonderful views beyond. There is quite a walk up hill to the cottage, but we had a car so no problem and it is so worth it when you arrive there! Just as the title of my review says…a little gem, would recommend to anyone and I’m sure we will return!

Wonderful

An examplary experience. From the minute we arrived, Gaye and her husband couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. A lovely cottage (the photographs on the website don't do it justice) with log burner, comfortable furniture and well appointed rooms and gardens. A box of chocolates, supplies and will be awaited us and we were sorely sad to leave. Five stars all the way.

Lovely short break

We stayed for a short break end of December/ New Year, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and showed around the accommodation. Owner was lovely and attentive. The property is located in a lovely, elevated position with stunning views over Port Erin to the south and Castletown/Lagness to the east. The property was clean, tidy and had all amenities one might need, truly a home-from-home! It was very comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommend and will definitely book again for the summer

Ideal staycation

Over the years have done a lot of Staycations, even before they become fashionable, so know what to expect. The stay here was one of the best, but would strongly recommend that you do your research as to where it is. I did this after reading another review but still got confused.

A short staycation

Excellent secluded location, beautiful views and grounds of woodland which you can explore. Short drive to local restaurants and beauty spots. Owned by a most pleasant and accommodating lady who lives a very short distance away on site. The Pines is very well equipped which makes it feel like home from home. Would have no hesitation recommending this property to anyone with the proviso that your own transport is recommended due to the location and the steepness of the access to the property.
