short stay

There was a damp smell on entering the cottage, 3 light bulbs had blown & not replaced, lamp bulb connector loose in lounge & a broker /dangerous bulb holder in kitchen. Standard of decor was tired, bathrooms in need of some TLC. We had an unexpected visit 8:15pm from a man saying he had stayed in the cottage the week before, asking if we could check to see if he left a charger behind the double bed, it wasn't there, however the double socket was hanging off the wall. We didn't know him & felt this was strange thing to do late in the evening. This made us feel a little uneasy the 2 nights we stayed were not comfortable as we did not sleep well at all. It would have been better if there were a curtain on the front door this may have felt more secure. The rear bedroom window was un latched too which didn't help settle our nerves. We accept that we could have spoken to the owner but we didn't feel anything could have been done to make our stay better, however we did send 2 or 3 e-mails which were not replied to. We decided to leave early having stayed just 2 of the 4 nights we booked.

Spring break

Booked at very short notice but received contact immediately and all questions answered. Beautiful location overall and cottage was lovely. Bed superbly comfortable and the thick walls kept any noise out- not that there was any! Everything you could need with a friendly welcome. Gorgeous walk into Sidmouth from the front door too. Definitely worth a visit.
