Charming Lakeland cottage. Oak beams and traditional features. Spectacular mountain views. Large garden. Parking for two cars. Close to Keswick.
Amenities: Central heating and hot water provided by an environmentally friendly air source heat pump.Electric oven and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, TV, DVD, Bluetooth speaker, WiFi. Private parking for 2 small cars. Large enclosed garden. Two small to medium size dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Village hall cafe and two pubs are only a few minutes stroll. Note: This character cottage dates back to the early 1800s; therefore some ceilings are low, floors may be uneven, and stairs slightly steep; please consider this when booking. Note: There is no washing machine or ironing board at this property
Town: The charming village of Threlkeld is just to the east of Keswick in the Northern Lakes. The steep sided Blencathra looms over Threlkeld village, a popular starting point for walking the mountain. Threlkeld's history reaches back more than 800 years; the Romans were here from the 3rd to the 8th century, followed later by the Norse. In the village the church dates back to 1578 and there are two pubs that first opened their doors in 1688.
Though only a few miles outside Keswick, the village is tranquil and unspoilt with great views of Blencathra and the Helvellyn range.
