Town: Set in the beautiful Lyth Valley, the tiny hamlet of Bowland Bridge is a hidden gem, with a small scattering of houses and two renowned pubs surrounded by beautiful meadows, woods and Lakeland fells. At the heart of the Lyth Valley are the villages of Bowland Bridge, Crosthwaite and Underbarrow, all of which have roads leading to Kendal, a market town situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Windermere, with its panoramic views over England's longest lake, is within a short drive and boasts a number of shops, pubs and restaurants, whilst its twin town Bowness offers boat trips to Ambleside and Lakeside, where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated.
