Staying on an estate

The stone duplex cottage is on the grounds of Holmwood House, part of the Scottish Land Trust. That in itself was exciting and different. We were surrounded by manicured gardens of flowers and vegetables, and grassy fields and fruit trees. The high street is just a 15-minute walk away. The cottage was comfortable and well appointed. This is not a property for a person who requires accessibility as there are steep stone steps to the front door and two of the 3 bedrooms are on the lower level. You will need a car, or use of uber, or buses to get to city center, but this is a magnificent getaway after a day in town. It was a truly amazing experience.
