Swallows Cottage is suitable for up to four adults excluding children in cots, whih can be provided free of charge, please bring cot linen. It has two comfortable bedrooms; the upstairs bedroom has a huge super king size bed, the second, downstairs bedroom has twin beds. Both bedrooms have a full size wardrobe, a dressing table and hairdryer. The bathroom has a level access shower, a shaver point over the sink and the loo. Along with the downstairs bedroom this cottage is suitable for guest with mobility requirements.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an automatic front loading washing machine, a full size electric oven and hob, a fridge and dishwasher. We also provide a six set of crockery, pans and cutlery, more than enough to cook that three course meal . The lounge has an open fire and seating for four adults. The patio doors look out onto the decking and the valley beyond. The views are magnificent. There's an HD TV and Freesat plus a surround sound DVD player.
All power, linen and towels are provided with beds made up prior to your arrival. A welcome basket is provided for guests who stay a week or longer.
A short stroll from the River Dee and the Llangollen Steam Railway, our two self-catering cottages, Swallows and Wagtails, nestle in the beautiful Dee Valley, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The cottages were converted to the highest standard from ancient barns dating back to the 17th century, and retain many original features. Each cottage has two bedrooms with super-king or twin beds. There are cosy dining and lounge areas with comfortable sofas, smart TVs and bluetooth speakers, and the kitchens are fully equipped. Relax in front of the open fire or in the lovely garden with its amazing views across the valley. Each cottage has its own patio area, with table and chairs and a barbecue provided in the summer months. Free wi-fi and all towels and bed linen is provided. Cots, stair gates and high chairs are available on request. Dogs are welcome. There is ample free parking.
North Wales provides the perfect setting for a host of outdoor activities. Walking, climbing, fishing, horse riding, mountain biking and many water sports are just some of the activities available within a short distance. A five minute drive away, the picturesque local town of Llangollen has many shops and amenities. Take a ride on the steam railway, enjoy a horse drawn canal boat trip and visit Plas Newydd, home of the famous ‘Ladies of Llangollen’. The Pontycysllte Aqueduct, a world heritage site, and the National Trust properties of Erddig and Chirk Castle are nearby. Explore the beautiful Berwyns or venture further afield into the stunning Snowdonia landscape with its many attractions. The shopping and cultural centres of Chester, Oswestry and Shrewsbury are also within easy distance.
There are numerous places to eat close by, from cosy country pubs to pleasant restaurants and cafes.
