Fantastic stay with great friends in a beautiful setting.

The cottages were presented so nicely and homely we especially loved the photos to show the history of the properties. Beautiful walk right from the door and the squirrels kept us entertained in the garden! Highly recommended and will definitely return.

Exceeded all expectations and intend to return!

Our stay in Swallows Cottage exceeded all expectations. We stayed in August 2024. The accommodation was spacious with plenty of room doe four adults and a baby. We were made to feel very welcome, with a cot and wonderfully clean high-chair supplied for our daughter. The kitchen is well-equipped and it was easy to cook and prepare food. The views are gorgeous and the location is ideal for Llangollen and Wrexham. The only thing I would change is that I wish we'd stayed for longer.

Beautiful views, a spotless, well equipped cottage and easy access to lovely walks.

Appreciated the warm welcome from Simon and some lovely treats to help us settle in. He was quick to respond to sort out an issue and the rest of our stay went really well. It's a short drive to Llangollen and there are great walks and country pubs nearby.

Peaceful location with great views

Spent a few nights here in winter. Beds were warm and comfy and the cottage was perfect for our needs and spotless. A big thanks to our hosts for the fresh eggs too and for showing us everything in detail on arrival.

Perfect

We stayed at Swallows Cottage for three days. It sits amidst glorious scenery, with great walks on the doorstep. It was a very relaxing stay. The garden is lovely, with sitting out areas and the Llangollen Steam Railway travels along the valley below.

Simon and I moved in to Ty Isar Plwyf in early October 2018 and are delighted to be taking over the running of Dee Valley Cottages.

Our two lovely cottages, Swallows and Wagtails, were converted from derelict 17th century barns by previous owners, Richard and Jenny. It was a real labour of love for them and not without its challenges! But as planned, they opened in May 2006 and have welcomed numerous guests in the years since then, with many returning year after year. When the time came for Richard and Jenny to move on, they were looking for someone who would love and care for this beautiful place, as they had done for so many years. We fell instantly in love with Ty Isar Plwyf, the two cottages and the stunning location with its breathtaking views over the Dee Valley. We hope we can continue as they did and welcome guests to share this little piece of paradise for many years to come.
