About this property

Premium Cottage Old Post Cottage at Green Cottages

A 2 bedroom cottage sleeping 4 in a double bedroom and a bunk bedroom. Fully furnished and equipped with high speed Wifi and internet TV.

Welcome basket on arrival with breakfast items. All bedlinen and towels provided. Child friendly and pet friendly. Private full enclosed back garden with outside seating. Overlooks the village green.
Green Cottages charming luxury holiday cottages are situated in the heart of the Kent village of Rodmersham Green. Old Post Cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4. Candy Cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 3. The cottages are beautifully furnished throughout and have high speed Wifi.

The cottages were built in 1860 as farm workers cottages, Old Post Cottage later became the old post office and village shop. Candy Cottage was named after the donkey that grazed on the village green. Full of traditional features the cottages are the perfect base for exploring Kent throughout the year.

We love the position of these cottages, overlooking the village green, adjacent to the pub and a few doors from the village shop/cafe. Rural life without being too remote, pop into the village cafe for coffee or into the village pub for a drink and dinner. Opposite the cottages is a footpath that takes you into beautiful Kent countryside.

We hire out bicycles to explore the area. Both the No.1 cycle route and the North Kent Downs are about 1 mile from the cottages. The cottages are a short drive (5/10 mins) from Sittingbourne, 15 mins from the historic town of Faversham and 25 mins from the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury. You can look out of window at rural village life but in a short drive/cycle be town. There are plenty of good village pubs to explore, Leeds Castle is a short drive (15/20 mins). If you fancy curling up on the sofa you can surf the internet using our high speed broadband Wifi, watch a DVD or read one of our local interest books. For something really different you could book a Thames Barge sailing trip. We provide stair gates, highchairs and a cot as standard.

We run Green Cottages Kitchen; Baking and Cookery workshops in my own kitchen (not the cottages). Workshops include bread making; Sourdoughs etc. We have several different scheduled workshops. If guests request an exclusive baking workshop date I will try to accommodate subject to availability.

Loved our little home away from home. So accessible to many amenities and attractions yet quiet and coy for some down time too. We love staying here.

The property was immaculate and very well-appointed. It is a great rural location with loads of walks around and there is also a decent pub. I would highly recommend Green Cottages.

Great cottage and location

This was our second stay here with our children, visiting family in the area. The cottage is well appointed and very comfortable, providing all the facilities and extras needed for young children - they especially enjoyed the box of toys provided. The kitchen was well stocked making cooking in the evening easy, and the fresh bread on arrival was delicious! Rodmersham is a lovely area and the excellent cafe a couple of doors away is an added bonus. We will definitely return.

Perfect little cottage

We booked Old Post Cottage for 5 nights. We come from Cornwall and were attending a friends wedding locally and also catching up with Family. The cottage is perfect with everything you would need for a self catering break. The kitchen is well equipped, the seating in the lounge is comfy and the bed is a kingsize and comfy, which is a big tick for us. The water pressure in the shower is also great. Altogether a great base for us and comfortable to come back to after being out all day. There are l

Excellent

It was clean, quiet, and nicely located for dog walking. It had everything you needed. I wouldn’t bother with the pub opposite unless you are into burgers but the little village cafe seemed quite nice. Parking wasn’t too. Difficult. The host was lovely although we had to rush off quickly due to an emergency so we forgot to say we were departing. The welcome back was yummy. No complaints all good. Couldn’t fault it. Pawfect for dogs. Totally secure back garden.

Green Cottages has been letting holiday cottage since 2008. We take great pride in supporting local businesses and the environment.

We were the first luxury holiday cottages in Kent to be award Green Tourism Gold and have maintained that status. We use environmentally friendly cleaning products, reduce our waste to the minimum and have removed all pesticides and herbicides from our gardens. Where possible we buy local produce and buy in sustainable products and services.

Our cottages are cosy, located in the heart of the village of Rodmersham,i in Kent, next to the village pub, The Fruiterers Arms and just a few doors down from the lovely Rodmersham village shop and cafe. We hope you find this a home from home. There’s lots of walking and cycling routes and we hire out bicycles.

In addition to our cottages we host baking workshops, a fun day out making and baking. We can arrange workshops for small groups on request. Great for a friends or family get together.
