King-Ensuite-Biggy

As the name suggests, these are the biggest rooms in the building. Perfect for longer stays, with ample space to spread out and enjoy views of our beautiful gardens from your floor to ceiling windows.

Both rooms come complete with: Nespresso coffee machine & tea making facilities, eco friendly toiletries by Walter Geering, dressing table with mirror & stool, Dyson hairdryer, Robert’s Radio & bathrobes.
Our stylish restaurant with its contemporary décor offers wonderful modern British and European cuisine to both residents and non residents – open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we offer an A la Carte menu.
We are also renowned locally and as far as Chester, Shrewsbury and beyond for our delicious Sunday lunches which, such is their popularity, have to be booked well in advance.

Our chic bar is the perfect place to relax. In these contemporary, yet comfortable, surroundings why not enjoy a cocktail, a meal, a coffee – read a book, enjoy the views or chat with friends or colleagues – we like to think that our bar pays homage to convivial congeniality and we hope you do too

Our magnificent function room can cater for wedding parties, birthday parties, anniversaries, in fact just about anything that you feel like having a party for! We are also licensed to hold civil ceremonies at the Sweeney.

Proving to be very very popular are our Exclusive Use Weddings – please feel free to call and enquire about this option or any other information regarding any function at the Sweeney.

Location: 2 miles from the historic market town of Oswestry, 17 miles from the medieval town of Shrewsbury and 25 miles from the famous Roman town of Chester – we are conveniently placed for all by road or rail. Manchester and Liverpool too are easily accessible by car. (Please note all distances are approximate).

Shopping and Entertainment – Both Shrewsbury and Chester are excellent for shopping and a few miles outside Chester is Cheshire Oaks – one of the country’s biggest outlet villages. Chester has its own race course and is also home to one of the UK’s best zoos.
The Sweeney is also 12 miles from Llangollen which plays host to the International Eistethfod each year.

Staff were excellent. The bar was pleasant. The grounds and gardens were beautiful. Unfortunately Room 1 was very disappointing, room badly decorated, and furniture had been partially painted, decor not in keeping with style of house. Bed small for the size of room. Poor quality furniture (odd DIY shelf) Bed was dangerously high off the ground

Lovely experience at Xmas especially , lovely setting and hotel

Staff are friendly and polite . Outlook Fromm room 1 is stunning . Rooms are large and quirky . Feel that rooms realy need a makeover , and the random ornaments could be binned . Debris seemed to come out of the jacuzzi jets . Few more toiletries needed some tap noises at night Food is nice , bit more choice for vegetarians would be nice

Fabulous hotel, stunning location and very friendly staff

We stayed for 2 nights (Sunday and Wednesday) as part of a North Wales road trip and had a great time. Sunday lunch was gorgeous. We stayed in two different rooms and both were amazing and all of the staff were extremely friendly. The only tiny negative was that the mushrooms and egg on one of the breakfasts on our second morning were hard. However we will definitely stay again and I have already recommended you to lots of friends.

Beautiful hotel, excellent setting.

The staff were very polite and so friendly. Our bedroom overlooked the gardens, there were 2 seats and a small table by the large window, very relaxing to sit and chill. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing as was the breakfast.
