Short stay

Stayed here before and reviewed that the bed was uncomfortable. Bed even worse this time, only stayed for 3 nights went home early couldn’t stay there any longer. Such a shame as cottage is lovely in such a lovely place, and the owner is so nice, but unfortunately won’t be going back

Superb

Stopped for 2nights to visit Beamish and then Durham. Stopped in the granary. Plenty room, lovely and clean. June was very helpful and her local knowledge was excellent. Location wise it was 20 mins ride to Beamish and the same for Durham centre. Local shops and pubs in Lanchester about 10 mins by car.

Comfortable, clean, spacious, warm and welcoming

We were visiting family members and had previously stayed in travel lodge in Durham, which we felt was cold, noisy and overpriced. Hamsteels was very comfortable and beautifully clean, quiet, 15 minutes out of Durham but easy to find. The price was very reasonable and we were upgraded to a bigger cottage which was available.

Delighted

We stayed for two nights, Friday and Saturday. We were going to the Rugby Magic Weekend and needed somewhere close to family and easy access for travelling to Newcastle. Hamsteels ticked both boxes.

Three-night stay. Wish it were longer. Quiet and relaxing. Friendly but unobtrusive from owner June. She even offered us 25% off vouchers for local events.
