About this property

Holiday Cottage at The Bailey Holidays

Our Dog-Friendly Holiday Cottage Is the perfect base to explore the wonders of Skipton & The Dales.
The Bailey is a very cosy dog friendly cottage for 2 people (one Kingsize bed with beautiful Egyptian cotton bedding) with a wood burner, next to the castle in the middle of Skipton, officially the happiest place in the UK and gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. There are wonderful walks in Skipton woods or on the fells. Bolton Abbey is 10 minutes away and Skipton is full of great dog friendly pubs, restaurants and cafes.

You can hire a day boat on the Leeds / Liverpool canal, road or mountain bikes from us or even book a chauffeur driven tour of the Yorkshire Dales in a classic car! We have a beautiful, large enclosed garden, full Sky package including Sports and Movies and very fast, hard wired BT WiFi. We have just completed a full renovation including a new kitchen and bathroom. The cottage has parking for one car.
The Bailey is a holiday destination consisting of a quirky Shepherd’s Hut, dog-friendly Holiday Cottage and a boutique Bed and Breakfast in Skipton, North Yorkshire. The 300 year old house contains the 2 beautiful boutique BnB rooms whilst the old dairy is now a self contained holiday cottage. At the far end of a beautiful landscaped garden is our quirky Shepherd's Hut. We have recently been given a Guest Review Award by Booking.com for achieving an average score of 9.8 out of 10.

All our accommodation types come with free parking, all bedding and towels included and free WiFi. Whilst check in is from 15:00 and check out is by 10:00, guests are welcome to park from 12:00 noon and remain parked until 12:00 noon on the day of departure. Very comfortable and cosy with everything you need for a few days away. Perfect location very close to the town centre, castle and amenities. Host Mark was friendly and helpful pointing us in the direction of good places to eat and suggesting options for local walks.

Cosy cottage with a rural feel.

Great cottage for a few days away. Good location just 5 min walk to shops and eateries. Lovely walks close by in the dales, Grassington being our favourite. Mark the owner was there to greet us on arrival and we had left a thoughtful welcome pack to include refreshments, biscuits, wine treats for our dog. Lovely view from window, our dog loved watching the sheep. An enjoyable stay 😊

A very comfortable apartment in a fantastic location

The location of the apartment is a short 300m downhill walk into Skipton and a short 300m walk uphill to fantastic walks around Skipton Castle woods. The apartment is situated at the top of some steps which would make it unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. It's well furnished and has everything that you could need, including a very comfy bed (not hard). It also has fabulous views.

Lovely, relaxing place to stay.

I enjoyed the warm welcome I received from Mark. He showed me around the little flat and explained how things worked. He was also on hand at the other end of the phone for any queries. The flat itself has a lovely cosy yet roomy lounge with a great wood burner. The bath has a great shower over it and though small was functional. The kitchen had everything needed to self catering. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed, lots of wardrobe space with plenty of proper wooden boat hangers.
