Clean and well located
Great and clean appartment very well located and a very nice host. Not exactly as announced (not luminous, smaller than looks on pictures and needs a little update renovation), but not enough not to stay there 😀

Great location!! A bit difficult to find the entrance and staircase may be an issue for some. Jose was a great host and most helpful!! Answered all our questions and gave great recommendations! Enjoyed our stay!

Perfecto!
This was a perfect place for us. It had all the amenities we needed. And there's a laundry service literally next door. Jose was the best. Super friendly, helpful and responsive. The El Born area and close to train, metro service and great restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Charming and cozy studio apartment conveniently located within the vibrant and delightful Born neighborhood. Narrow staircase up to apartment. Luis the property manager was fabulous- very responsive and helpful! Would definitely come back again!

Good location but…
Pros: good location, great check in experience. Cons: the bathroom was not clean, the tiles have mold, the shower didn’t drain properly and it smelled. The stairs to the apartment smelled of urine.

Great Location, Difficult to Access
This property is in a fantastic location, right in the middle of the gothic quarter and close to everything. Plenty of shops, cafes, historical places, and nightlife. The biggest problem with this listing (And this is not made clear until you arrive) is that it is a third floor walk-up, up a very precarious, narrow, and twisting staircase. We were here for a couple of days prior to embarking on a cruise so we had two enormous suitcases with us. It was honestly all we could do to get these up to the flat. I wouldn’t want to try that again. Bottom line is that if you’re in relatively good shape, don’t have heavy and cumbersome bags to lug, and wish to be in a real cool part of Barcelona, , this place is for you!

Location, Location, Location!!!
This apartment is the perfect location. Right in the heart of el Born, my favorite part of Barcelona by far! At your door step, you have amazing food, cocktails and shopping. We walked to Barceloneta Beach a few days, to check out La Sagrada Familia and to Las Ramblas. We did not get in a vehicle for the 7 days we were in Barcelona and it was fabulous! The apartment itself was clean upon arrival and was the perfect home base with all of the necessities. We are already planning our trip back for September 2019 and plan to stay here again.

Studio in guter Lage mit Schwächen
Sehr gute zentrale Lage.

Best location!
The El Born area was a perfect location! The apartment is difficult to find the first time if you are totally unfamiliar with Barcelona. The cab driver even had difficulty. The apartment itself is very nice, the entrance up a tight spiral staircase. Jennifer Sarah was great!

Cute Apartment
The apartment itself is nice enough. The pictures do it justice. We had a slightly tougher than usual experience checking in, as the keys for the apartment had been miss located and it took them a couple hours to find. Also, we were communicating with the owner via the Homeaway app, but then a different person called us a few days early to say she would be checking us in, and then yet another person was the actual person checking in. Little confusing. More on the apartment: the main issue is the bathroom, specifically the shower. It was SUPER hard to figure out hot and cold, and it flooded the bathroom on our first attempt. It would have been nice to have a demonstration of how it worked when we arrived. Also, the stairs coming up to the apartment are metal and loud, and very narrow. You can hear when anyone is walking up or down the stairs. Overall a cute apartment, but just has some drawbacks. Side note – my fiancé got pick-pocketed very close to the apartment. The apartment is in a nice area, but just be very aware of having your belongings in your front pocket and not talking to anyone that is offering you anything on the streets.

The location makes this place a must.
We could not have loved this apartment more due to the location. The apartment was also clean and felt very safe. Communications and arrival were easy. The shower is an adventure but we figured out how to not soak the bathroom floor after a couple tries :) Otherwise everything was great! Some people noted that there was noise; you could hear people when they were on the stairs but there was not a lot of traffic on the stairs nor were people using the stairs at times that the noise was disruptive. We'd stay here again hands down.

Studio in the heart of El Born
The apartment's location, being that it was close to the beach and many of the city's attractions, was excellent. El Born has a very cool vibe to it and we really enjoyed the area's atmosphere. The apartment, although clean and well appointed, is in need of general maintenance. It could use some fresh paint and a deep clean. We did not hear noise from the metal staircase as others have mentioned. We did think it was strange that there was no top sheet for the bed, but we did locate a comforter that solved the problem. It was also great to have air conditioning as it was very hot during our stay. We would highly recommend the convenient bike rental shop just around the corner. Overall, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great stay in Barcelona
Nice little apartment in the heart of Barcelona. Apartment was equipped with everything nessassary to prepare meals which by the way we NEVER did. I am a food explorer and had to eat at the endless little restaurants we were surrounded by. Location could not have been better. Many attractions are walking distance, others are easily accessible by metro which is very inexpensive. We had a wonderful week. Thank you Marc and Sarai for being so welcoming and helpful.

Comfortable, good value, outstanding neighborhood
We loved our stay in the apartment in El Born. Just steps away from shops, many, many great intimate places to eat, sights to see. Short walks to the zoo, park, museums, cathedrals, waterfront. We would definitely stay here again. Yes the stairs are noisy - no problem for us. - OH - to have the funds to just return. I'd do it RIGHT NOW. The owner, Marc, was promptly responsive to any questions and one of the helpers (Carmen) was able to meet us a few minutes earlier than we planned. Very helpful. One other person mentioned a wonderful restaurant and I will endorse it again. "ARTESANS", (turn right as you exit the apartment, turn right again and it is on the left). Beautiful, awesome food, good prices, beautiful interior with vaulted brick ceiling. Look it up on-line.

Great location
Spacious, by Barcelona standards, in a great loacation steps from lots of restaurants, bars and shops. Short walk to lots of tourist areas. Would definitely book again. Only slightly negative would be the narrow stairwell and no elevator, which is normal for Barcelona.

Great area!
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. It is very close to all the attractions and is on a cute, nice street! There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops around this area. I would recommend staying here. The apartment was clean and cozy and you could see a beautiful old church steps away from the front door. The stairs a a bit noisy coming up the apartment so I would recommend bringing some ear plugs in case other residents are coming home later so that they do not wake you. Everyone else in the building was very quiet, but the stairs were difficult to walk up quietly.

Great location and good sized apartment
This apartment is located in El Born, the old part of Barcelona. Others have mentioned that it's not overly quiet but we didn't think it was too bad considering its brilliant location. And yes, the metal stair case is noisy and narrow - avoid large suitcases. If you want to splurge a little, we'd highly recommend going to a very nice restaurant just meters away called Bodega La Tinaja (turn right out of door of the building then right again - 2nd door on the right). We went there on our first night - great food & wine selection. We would also recommend going to the Boqueria markets (quite close as long as you don't get lost in the many small alleys!). Here you can select from a fantastic selection of fruit, veges, meat (including salamis and of course jamon) & fish, then cook uo a feast in the apartment (just enough utensils for the job). One word of warning though is that when we stayed, the door handle on the inside of the building was broken, so you had to use the key to get out. This was fine up until our departure where upon you're meant to leave the keys in the internal letter box - which we did. However, in so doing, we didn't have a key to let ourselves out of the building!! Luckily someone let us out, but be warned... Perhaps Marc can arrange for the handle on the door to be fixed (?). We are also tea drinkers and there was no kettle in the apartment. We boiled water in a pot. Not a big deal but Marc, if you could supply a kettle that would be nice for tea drinkers! These were only small things. Overall, it was very nice to get back to the apartment after a long day seeing the sites ( and there are many...). Regards, Stuart & Sandy

Excellent location, terrible management
My friends and I planned a trip to Barcelona over our winter break, and we decided to use Homeaway for the first time (my first time, but not theirs). I was charged with handling the booking for the trip, and that part was a breeze. We found the apartment and the process of booking and arriving was painless. Upon arriving though, the manager of the property gave us a tour of the space and attempted to demonstrate how to use the pull out couch--she was incapable of getting it open, which distressed her tremendously. She eventually left, and we were immediately able to pull out the couch with no problem at all. The next day however, we received a knock on the door from a man claiming to be the owner of the apartment. The manager had not told me anything about a visit from the owner, and therefore I did not feel comfortable opening the door. The owner would not leave however, and the manager was not responding to e-mail or her phone. She claimed to be on Whats App, but she was not and therefore was entirely unreachable. We managed to get the owner to leave upon telling him that there were no issues with the couch. Management should have informed me that the owner was coming, which she did not, and two days later when she finally did respond to my e-mail, she expected me to have somehow guessed that the owner would be coming since she was unable to open the couch. Overall just an unnecessary stress. The day after that incident, we received yet another unwanted knock on the door, this time from a woman living upstairs. Again, I did not feel comfortable opening the door, which the tenant thought was weak and childlike and did not hesitate to inform me of her feelings. She claimed that the apartment heater was too loud and was disrupting her husband and herself. The heater was indeed extremely loud and very annoying, however, the apartment was a freezer box without it. The tenant informed me that she would be speaking to management about it, and then left. Very strange encounter, not pleasant at all. The stickers on the kitchen wall are pealing off, the bathroom door knob fell off, the shower was very bizarre, would not heat up unless it was carefully jimmied, and would flood the bathroom floor. The space is advertised to hold 3 people, but that is a bit of a stretch. Overall, the location is amazing. Really can't beat it. But the manager was very unresponsive and condescending over e-mail. I would not book this apartment again.

Central location
Great location. Easy walking distance to all attractions especially the Picasso Museum, Barcelona Cathedral, Las Ramblas, Placa Cantalunya, etc. Also walkable to Sagrada Familia. Well equipped apartment. As others have stated in their reviews, if noise bothers you, either people on the metal stairs early in the morning, or restaurant staff opening metal rolling doors late at night, then this is not the place for you. If you like to be close to various sights and appreciate being in the middle of the Born, then this is a fabulous location. We walked everywhere. Pictures are accurate, property is well maintained. I'd return the next time I was in Barcelona.

Perfect location, great apartment.
Apartment has all amenities and is perfect for one or two people. The location is in the heart of the pedestrian area of the old city. There are tons of great little restaurants and shops all around and a little grocer just across the way. A bit noisy at night with city sounds all around.

Great studio- even better location!
This place is in such a fun neighborhood- we loved the location! Everything you would need is right outside your door- even the beach is close enough to walk to. The apartment itself is very nice and we had very good experiences with Marc and Sarai. They're both prompt and reliable communicators. The apartment is very clean, but slightly tucked away in an ally so it doesn't get much natural light. There's a narrow stairway to access the apartment so not ideal if you have a lot of luggage to haul. It can also be a bit noisy- from traffic on the stairs and from the bars below. But really for us the location and neighborhood were the best part of booking this place! Clean safe and fun! We'd stay here again if we ever find ourselves in Barcelona. Thank you Marc and Sarai!

Cosy for two
We are two Friends and stayed at the appartment for three nights. It is a very nice and cosy place to stay, also very clean. You can sleep over easily with three people if you do not care to sleep all in one room. Because there is no separate sleepingroom. The bathroom is small and is also clean, although it could use a little bit of paint. Which is very nice, is the window between the bathroom and the kitchen. This brings us to the kitchen. Everything you need for breakfast or cooking is there. For there are many cosy tapasbars in the neighbourhood, we did not use the kitchen. The only negativ point is the noise outside at night. The appartment is near churh santa Maria del Mar and in the middle of Born. So it is in the middle of bars. But that is a choice you make and we did not care for that. May I say that the owner, mr. Marc Serra, is a very kind and friendly man. I did not see him, there is a lady who gives you the key. But I have mailed a few times to Marc and he is always very helpfull! So thank you Marc, and we will come back for sure in a few years to Barcelone and to your place!!
