It was a very nice property by the lake. We had all of the amenities that we could have wanted and our host was very nice. We had wonderful weather when we needed it and the area has so much to offer.
The cottage is in a good location to explore the islands and /or just relax and play by the water. The bike ride to and around Isle La Motte is wonderful. Great swimming in clear and refreshing water, down on the private property beach, beautiful view of the mountains. It was a very hot week, but the bedrooms stayed cool.
Sue did a great job of equipping the cottage with all the necessities for a family vacation. She was easy to communicate with and is full of great tips about the area.
We hope to be back in the fall!
Comfortable accommodations in a peaceful location that is convenient to many different offerings. The swinging chair and Adirondack chairs facing the lake were a perfect place to begin and end the day. Sue, our host couldn't be any more friendly and accommodating.
Place was clean, new bathroom just installed, very peaceful location. Sue was very nice and welcoming. Look forward to hopefully coming back next year.
Wonderful spot facing east on the island of North Hero in Lake Champlain.
I would recommend it to anybody looking for peace and quiet.

perfect location
Not only was the cottage just right for us, Dave and Sue were attentive to our needs. Location was centrally located and able to accommodate a new born through adult. Our son loved jumping off the dock every morning and making dinner over the open fire. Thanks for a great vacation, we hope to come back next year.
The facility was very clean and comfortable. The access to the water was more difficult than expected. There was not much water front as expected. Overall, very relaxing place.
The beds feel like sleeping at home, the ac works wonderfully. The kitchen is one of the best appointed I've had in a rental property. The house is set back from the road which is lovely and the water is right there. Better than any of this though was the host, Sue. Sue was personable, deeply helpful, easy going, and patient. I cannot say enough great things about her or the home. We hope to be back soon.
The house was as described. It was clean and stocked with the basics. We enjoyed our vacation to an area we had never been to. Sue was friendly, checked to ensure we arrived safely, and let us know prior to the lawn service people arriving. My only complaint is with mother nature. With the recent rains in Vermont there was no pier in the water and we didn't have the private beach access as described in the listing. We ended up getting a state park pass so we could enjoy some time on the water.
We stayed at this little cabin to enjoy all the islands of lake Champlain have to offer. It was a complete success, fishing was unforgettable and there was plenty of hiking for our active dog to enjoy close by. The cabin is rustic ,cozy and suited us just fine for the 4 day weekend. The closest boat ramp is 1/4 mile away and very easy. This side of the lake gets very sporty when the wind is above 10 mph. There are plenty of other boat ramps relatively close as well( all though I didn’t need them) fishing up north by the cabin is remarkable I only used a 1/2 tank of gas on this huge lake and still managed to catch 3,4 and 5 pound smallies every day as well as huge northern pike. Sue was very helpful and very nice. We will be staying here again for sure.
Good location, good hosts, listing somewhat misleading
Our family of 4 with two college-aged daughters stayed 10 days in June. Communication from Sue was perfect, and the items provided (including fresh flowers and a pie) made us feel welcome.
I understand that property descriptions and photos focus on highlights, but I found this listing particularly misleading. The cottage is clean, but quite old, and although the bathroom has been recently remodeled, the bedrooms have rugs covering holes in the vinyl flooring in places, and paint on door jambs is peeling. We arrived after dark on a damp, chilly evening and couldn't figure out how to get any heat (we did the next day). The weather was warmer later in our stay.
The photos in the listing show the tile floors in the bathroom and carpeted family room, but the bedroom photos are framed to minimize views of the floor. Unfortunately, this was triggering for one member of my family, causing a very difficult first night. Had I known, I would have prepared differently, or even chosen a different property. Also, the photos don't really show that there is a street between the house and the lake. We ended up spending 3 nights in Boston and Jersey City / NYC and paying for hotels.
Having said this, if you know what to expect and are ok with it (which, if you are of a certain age, you probably will be) it is a nice place to relax, not far from beaches, and ~1 hr from Montréal. You can kayak the lake or a river, fish, bike the Island Line Trail, etc. Our trip ended better than it started!
Sue is a very friendly and helpful host. Cottage is supplied with everything you could possibly need for a great vacation getaway. Large yard with nice fire pit. Beautiful lake and mountain views. Easily accessible beachfront, clear water and dock for reading. Dog friendly neighbors!
We stayed for a week in July with our two children (ages 5 and 10). The house was clean and we were provided with all the basics to make for a great stay. We swam in the lake every day. As described it is rocky at the beach so bring water shoes. We took day trips to Burlington, St Albans and state parks in the area. We had a couple of questions about where things were located in the house and Sue was very responsive. Would recommend for a nice relaxing vacation.
I booked this cottage during the winter when COVID was crazy and we were unsure if we'd get a summer vacation with small kids. I'm sure glad we did. The cottage was great and Sue was amazing! There was plenty of room for my 2 young children and it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the lake, nearby beach and firepit. My husband also got in a lot of fishing. The Netflix was a great bonus to keep my 5 year old occupied. Not to mention she was obsessed her "room" and was quite sad to leave it. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the swing overlooking the sunrise. Overall great week and great location.
Great location to the water. Loved the big front yard and the fire pit. Having your own dock was really nice. Beautiful location. Owner was very nice and very helpful to whatever we needed. Definitely would go back!

What makes this property unique
We are located on the east side of Lake Champlain and enjoy morning sunrises. The front yard is large for fun family activities. The Lake is across the street, with seating on the grass lawn as well as the lakeside shoreline.
