This beautiful and pristine, private access property has incredible views of the Texas Hill Country - that can be seen from every window of the home. The property is surrounded by tall canopy's of beautiful Oak trees - providing the perfect shade for that afternoon siesta or nap.

Each bedroom has new comfortable mattresses - wrapped comfortably with cotton linens. There is a full kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker and other modern appliances to make you feel right at home. A new central air & heat system is sure to keep you cool and warm year round. The floor plan is open and lends itself wonderfully to entertaining guests.

Outside, there is a barbecue pit/smoker - along with a firepit for those air-cooled star-lit nights. (please bring charcoal and wood) The fenced (kid friendly) backyard includes a swing for two and a swing for one that are nestled under a large Oak tree that overlook the majestic hilltops. The backyard is lit with cafe lighting to add to the nighttime ambiance.

The home is located on 10-acres - which also contains an *RV pad located approximately 100 yards from the main house. The RV pad comes fully equipped with electrical hook-up, (20-50 amp) water and sewage. *PLEASE NOTE: The RV pad rental is a separate rental fee. (Please inquire with the host for pricing.)

The property has river access. The beautiful, natural spring-fed Nueces River is a short, 'rocky walk' from the property. Be sure to bring along your sneakers or hiking shoes in order to navigate the rocky terrain alongside the river. (PLEASE NOTE: A walk to the river is not suitable for the handicapped or the elderly)

Great country getaway

This was such a lovely and refreshing stay, away from the hustle & bustle! We absolutely loved this gem of place; from the river banks, to the beautiful backyard views of the TX Hill Country! We absolutely recommend this place!

Location is perfect!

Property is close to the damn, and close to town but the home itself is remote and serene. Comfy beds, great yard, fire pit and grill. It was our 3rd time staying here and not it last!

Beautiful Hill Country Retreat

Everything was perfect for our stay at the ranchito! We enjoyed the views in the morning and sunset, quiet and peaceful area . House was clean and comfortable, the river was perfect for the kids. I will be booking in the future again!

Great place to unplug and relax

This is a great place to come and unwind, the scenes are beautiful, the river is only a short walk, and the water is great on hot summer days. The BBQ pit came in handy, and the house is well equipped. This was our second stay here and hope to keep coming back.

The house and grounds were perfect!

Our family attended a family reunion in Camp Wood and this house and property was perfect for our stay. The house was very comfortable, clean and attractive and the kids enjoyed fishing in the river. We enjoyed having our morning coffee and watching the deer! We would love to come back!

GREAT FAMILY PLACE

Such an amazing place to take your family to unplug and relax! The River was the perfect depth to just sit in the water. About 30 yards down the river is deep enough to swim and jump off rocks! Little ones can play in the water while older kids can actually swim with you seeing them! BEST VALUE for Nueces River!

Great river house

The kids had a blast, my wife and I enjoyed the quiet and peaceful time we spent there.We did a litle fishing, the acces to the river can be a bit rough, but if a 4 year old can do it everyone can do it. Everything looked exactly like in the pictures. The house is a bit old and maybe a bit outdated but it has its charms. It's also very well furnished with everything you need. We will definitely be back.

Solitude and Serenity

Great location, in the middle of nowhere but close enough to "town" to access those comforts. Super comfy beds, well stocked kitchen. The river was perfect, we fished, paddle boarded and floated till the sun went down every day then enjoyed the awesome fire pit and grill every night. Close to the River Damn for a day trip and Camp Wood for ice cream and BBQ. There were a couple of bumps with plumbing and I would recommend more outdoor seating (other than folding chairs) to better enjoy the stunning views of the river, hills and sunrise! Highly recommend and we will be back!

This location is a place we will be visiting for the future. My family and I enjoyed are stay. Perfect for a family to get away from their busy life’s. We had a good walk to the river and the kids enjoyed the yard to throw ball. Our youngest loved running around and poking bugs. The river was a plus just enough to relax and get earth grounding in the soul. Thank you Dawne for the assistance and being there when we needed it.

Amazing Place!

This property is everything you could ever ask for! It literally has everything you need! Communication with the owner was so easy and she responded quickly! The property is so peaceful and so quiet. Set back away from other people. The river was amazing. Just a short little walk from the house! I have a teenager and a pre teen and a smaller child and it was perfect for all ages! We will definitely be booking again and look forward to our next stay! The property is also just a couple minutes from Camp Wood dam, and cute little stores and restaurants!

Perfect hill country getaway!!

This place has it all. We did a three night stay over Easter weekend and we are already planning the next trip. The house is on the river so we enjoyed morning coffee with the best views. During the day we mostly swam at the dam which is a quick trip ( literally less than a mile) away. We headed back after we were all water logged and the fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed and then some to make dinner for my hungry crew. The kids enjoyed movies and games each night and my husband had to take a picture of the pillow tag cause he said it was the best pillow ever! I’m sure he already ordered one just like it on Amazon. Would highly recommend!!!

Relaxing, clean, larger place than photos show

We had a hard time finding this place Because the map takes you to downtown Campwood and not directly to the place. We went to the real estate office in Campwood and showed them the pictures of the place and they were able to take us there. We all love the place.very peaceful. The rooms were a lot larger than they looked in the photos and the kitchen was well stocked for everything. You might need as far as dishware, pots and pans and spices. The AC works well snd the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The view was incredible. You can walk to the river frkm there easily. The street number on the place was hard to see and would be easily missed.

This picture is of me and my wonderful real estate agent, Ray McDonald. This is the first day I saw our property. I have a heart for the beautiful Texas Hill Country and therefore decided to purchase this property as our home away from home. We want others to get away from the city, unplug and connect to family and to this wonderful area as well.

Why they chose this property

I bought this property because it is close enough to the rive to hear the running water, walk to from the house and see from my back yard. There is a flood plain between the house and river which makes it safe and fun to be at when there is a storm/downpour. The water comes rushing down from the hill country and we watch it in awe and safety from out lawn chairs. The view is amazing from inside and outside of the house also.

What makes this property unique

Our property has some awesome benefits:
1. Just off the highway so easily accessible for any type of vehicle.
2. Only 40 minutes from Uvalde if in need for a city fix.
3. 2 miles into Camp Wood for restaurants, shopping and meals.
4. Close to the dam where you can drop in your canoes and float to the house.
5. Great Yard for kids to play.
6. Wonderful for guests, great place for a family reunion.
