Laugharne is a truly remarkable place to visit, with a rich history that surrounds you.
The poet and writer Dylan Thomas lived and worked from the Boathouse, only a very short walk from the Lodge. Walk a little further, following the picturesque boardwalk alongside the estuary, you will find the medieval castle where he wrote "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog" in the castle summerhouse.
You will not find a more relaxing place to unwind away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Laughrne is an oasis of natural beauty that is teaming with wildlife.
The foodies will be rewarded whether you decide to dine in the first class on site the restaurant, Milk Wood Kitchen & Bar, with its stunning panoramic views; or explore some of the traditional local pubs and cafes that can be reached on foot.
Guests at the resort can find ultimate relaxation and wellness treatments and therapies in the Milk Wood Spa. You can relax in the vanishing pool, or work away the stress in the gym.
A 10 minute drive (or for the more energetic and adventurous a 5 mile walk) will take you to Pendine Sands; 7 miles of sand. The beach is so flat that it has been the “go to” location for many world record speed attempts; including Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird inA fact that any petrolhead will appreciate. To celebrate this history there is a Museum of Speed in Pendine, with many of the original record holding vehicles.
For the real ale enthusiast (as well as many traditional pubs) a 20min drive will find The Hand Made Beer Company. Just outside Carmarthen it is the ideal place to stock up on beers to suit every taste.
