About this property

Cilrhiw Country House - Princes Gate

For a superior, luxurious break, treat yourself and family, friends or colleagues, to a stay in our beautiful Georgian Mansion, Cilrhiw Country House, nestled in over thirty acres of secluded countryside on the outskirts of Narberth, within the stunning Pembrokeshire National Park.

Pembrokeshire has many stunning and award-winning beaches, quaint harbours and historic towns and castles. There are many walks to be found on the miles of coast path where you can stumble across hidden and secluded coves, or for the younger members there are many family attractions nearby such as Folly Farm, Oakwood, Manor Park Wildlife Zoo, Heatherton Activity Centre or the Dinosaur Park.

This large, opulent property is finished to the very highest of standards and offers superb accommodation for up to 12 guests (14 on request). The property is reached via a private lane just beyond the pretty village of Princes Gate, the birthplace of Wales’ multi- award-winning bottled mineral water. The house majestically resides over a valley with a mixture of formal gardens, sweeping pathways and Welsh slate terraces; all leading to the private woodland and vast acreage boasting ancient trees, gently running streams and natural waterfalls. The private meandering gated driveway leads you to an area with ample parking set next to a large wooden cabin. This building has a lovely studio play area and a games hall which would be ideal for you to arrange team fun and games.

Towards the front of the property, you will find a large Balboa hot tub set in its own gazebo with bar seating to one side, and, further on, a large area ideal for a fire pit.

The house is entered via an enclosed porch area leading to a vestibule hallway with beautifully restored tiled flooring and a welcoming large stone fireplace with log burner.
An arched doorway leads into an exquisite double kitchen, ideal for the scale of this property. One side of the kitchen boasts a state-of-the-art Rangemaster cooker with large induction hob. On this side of the kitchen guests will enjoy congregating around the beautiful, large kitchen island unit with stylish leather bar stools, another induction hob and a large double cooler wine fridge. The entire kitchen has been fitted with marble worktops and integrated sinks, with no expense spared to the upgrade of all fittings and appliances. The second kitchen area has a double Bosch microwave, convection all-purpose cooker, an American style fridge freezer, coffee machine and two dishwashers. Guests can also enjoy one of the many 42” screen TVs in this property.

The house is maintained at a pleasing temperature fitted with thermostats in every area and the luxury of underfloor heating. The entire property refurbishment was approached with sustainability in mind, with a mixture of ground sourced heating (geothermal) and renewable energy wherever possible.

The kitchens lead beautifully onto two comfortable living areas; a comfortable drawing room complete with a second log burner and a cocktail preparation area, and a beautifully appointed dining room. This area has the feel of a hunting lodge with 2 large stag horn chandeliers over a huge wooden table to seat 14, with a mixture of leather benches and hide covered chairs.

The cosy sitting room leading off the kitchen boasts another large stone fireplace. Here you will luxuriate on one of the stunning new chesterfield sofas and armchairs set against the large windows, with shutters, boasting picture perfect views over the external terraces.
From this room the property opens onto an inner hallway with the remarkable and perfectly restored original tile and wood flooring. This hallway houses a perfectly appointed cloakroom with impressive double doors which further leads to yet another lounge area boasting large comfortable sofas and chairs, a large TV complete with state-of-the-art SONOS surround sound. This area provides an ideal congregation and entertainment area that leads perfectly into the newly added and extraordinary orangery.

This magnificent space opens on two sides via bifold doors and boasts a large lantern ceiling bathing the whole area with natural light, but with automatic blinds if privacy is required. This area could comfortably host large groups for events and special occasions in a variety of capacities: There is ample seating available with a mix of luxurious seating and eating areas including bar stools and tables. A huge 70” Tv with full surround sound is also available in this large gathering room and a fully equipped disabled toilet is easily accessed from here. The doors open to reveal a wonderful terrace area with an impressive built-in outdoor entertainment area.

An interesting, curved stairway in the inner hall leads towards the accommodation areas. Guests can take their pick of the many luxurious bedrooms, including three en-suite King-size rooms, one king size room within a stone’s throw of another impressive bathroom. Children will delight with their fun and quirky double bunk room, sleeping up to four comfortably, and six on request. The bedrooms are all presented to an exceptional standard, with large, upholstered headboards and matching fabrics, smart TV’s, incredibly opulent beds and Egyptian thread bed linen. Each bedroom boasts large (often double aspect) windows, beautifully presenting panoramic views over the valley. The en-suite bathrooms are all uniquely designed and fitted with top of the range showers and double sinks and vanity areas. Guests will enjoy the guidance of automatic low lighting in bedrooms, another of the many additional features of this superb property. On this level, a show-stopping large family bathroom, boasting an enormous Victorian style bath, convenience shower and an unusual basin on a suspended wood shelf leads to an inner landing area with seating. This level further leads to another large cloakroom and eventually towards another king size bedroom with panoramic valley views.

There is no shortage of storage areas and additional facilities to make your stay at Cilrhiw as comfortable and carefree as possible, and no attention to detail - even to the most minutia of aspects - has been overlooked.

This entire property boasts a plethora of interesting nooks and crannies, carefully and sensitively renovated to capture both the historic context of Cilrhiw and the highest possible standards in materials and finishes throughout. Cilrhiw is quite simply the finest of rental properties to be presented in Pembrokeshire, and a stay here promises to be the most special experiences imaginable.

Many extra services and bespoke packages, such as chef prepared meals and picnic hampers can be arranged at your request, after booking, to make this a really memorable experience.

Please be aware that there will be a £50 charge if the hot tub needs to be emptied and refilled as a result of not adhering to the hot tub guidelines during your stay.
