Cute, comfortable getaway nestled in a quiet street that suited our needs. Hour and a half up Cornish border and an hour to Dartmoor where we had a lovely walk on the forest. Minutes away from Salcombe on the river and the beach. Well equipped kitchen, nice garden and plenty of hot water
Perfect location - visited Salcombe and Dartmouth with ease from cottage. Cottage was perfect with everything we needed for a home from home stay. Thank you.

great cosy cottage with lovely features!
We enjoyed a lovely short break in this cosy, well-equipped cottage. Fantastically located for exploring the local area including the beautiful towns of Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth. Also enjoyed taking the children to 'Woodlands' - adventure park ( nr Dartmouth) and also to The Ring O Bells (village pub) for dinner and a game of pool!

Not in Kingsbridge
Cottage is quaint. Unfortunately the cottage is a not in Kingsbridge as mentioned in the listing which meant driving in to Kingsbridge which we wanted to avoid.

Could have been better
Very bad start as owner hadn’t remembered our booking so the cottage had not been cleaned, linen changed etc. Took us about 90 minutes, including Verbo, to get hold of somebody to help. Someone did come round and clean the property about 2.5 hours after we arrived. The cottage itself is very nice and no complaints about it. Unfortunately the cottage next door had scaffolding erected and work going on so noisy at times and there was a dachshund constantly barking which was hugely frustrating. We both fell ill during the holiday which is clearly nobody’s fault but forced us to leave on the Thursday rather than the Saturday as planned. It’s a nice cottage in what I guess is a normally quiet area but this wasn’t an experience we would choose to go through again. Think we should have been warned about the work going on in the cottage next door as a minimum.

Lovely property, lot smaller than I thought it would be.
The property was smaller than I thought, but was manageable for us. Didn't realise pets were allowed, if I knew that I wouldn't have booked, but that was my mistake. It was clean enough, but places like on top of bed frame were dusty. Our bed was very comfy, but the kids bunk bed was terrible. There was springs poking out everywhere, even my 2 year old said it was uncomfortable. And every time my daughter moved on top bunk it squeaked loud. Maybe time to replace. There was a lovely welcome basket when we arrived which I thought was really nice. Other than the things mentioned it was a really lovely stay. And a very cosy cottage! If it wasn't for pets,I would've definitely returned.
Property states itself as in Kingsbridge. It’s not. It’s in the next town. Says you can walk to Kingsbridge. You can’t. It’s a long walk on a difficult and hilly road. It’s says it has parking. It doesn’t. It’s a very hilly narrow lane way where if you park extremely close to a rock wall one car might be able to pass you but your car is at risk. We chose not to stay. Asked for a partial refund and the owner was not interested.
Niedliches kleines Cottage. Alles vorhanden, was man benötigt.
This was our first get away as a family. Perfect location for the classic Devon seaside towns, beaches with easy driving reach. The house was cosy with plenty of space.
Nice easy walk into Kingsbridge. Lovely lunch at The Crabshell Inn. Appreciated bread, butter , milk and hot x buns on our arrival. It was nice to find a dog bed in the lounge and also 2 dog bowls in kitchen as I had forgotten to pack mine. The garden was small but we were blessed with lovely weather and it was a nice place to sit in the morning sun. The shower was nice with good water pressure and the double bed very comfortable. Nothing negative to say apart from the fact that I didn’t like to park by cottage as wasn’t keen on parking close to brick wall but it was not a problem as able to park in Village hall car park 2 minutes walk away
The cottage is great. Clean, great location and has everything you need for relaxation and day trips out. If you have children under the age of 10 the bunk beds are perfect but would be small for older children. We parked our car in the village hall car park as the road is quite narrow but it’s only a 30 second walk away . The log burner is great for the evenings and the tv has Amazon prime and Netflix so you can just log in. All in all very good 👍🏻
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pearl River Cottage. It was a home from home with all the mod cons. Particularly appreciated the washer dryer! Lovely garden. Comfortable bed.
Very cosy and welcoming and also very thoughtful towards the dogs! Good welcoming pack and nice provisions left for arrival. Secure garden for doggies and comfortable living arrangements.
We stayed at Pearl River cottage twice- a week in May and 10 days in June. Superb location on the outskirts of Kingsbridge but the location was a bonus - very peaceful and an easy walk into town. We would definitely ask to stay there again. The complimentary breakfast food, milk etc was a much appreciated bonus.

Lovely cottage in a great location.
We really enjoyed our stay in Pearl River Cottage.
There were a few things that needed attention - shower heat control not working properly - but we mentioned this to the owners and they intend to rectify promptly.

Cosy cottage great location
The cottage is lovely and cosy, smaller than I expected, a fab new kitchen with everything you need, nice and clean, bathroom is tired but perfectly adequate.
Pearl cottage is in a very good location, short drives to Dartmouth/Salcombe, 15 minute walk to Kingsbridge where there are shops pubs and restaurants.
You can park on village hall car park which is only up the lane. Dog friendly to, what’s not to like !

Heavenly homely cottage.
The cottage is absolutely lovely.Very well equipped and thorough attention to detail in the kitchen area and the little touches to make it very dog friendly. The kitchen is very beautiful a joy to be in. The 2nd bedroom needs a little more character. The location is great, just a short walk into Kingsbridge. It was a wonderful relaxing homely environment to spend our holiday.

Cute, cosy cottage with great shower and comfy bed.
We had a fabulous week at Pearl River Cottage. We were central for exploring the beautiful surrounding beaches and countryside and for crabbing in Kingsbridge. The cottage was perfect for my husband, myself and our 8 year old son. The cottage was very clean with a great shower, lovely new kitchen and very comfortable bed. Would highly recommend it and may well be back. Thank you!

Pearl River Cottage is a special place to stay. We specialise in making sure our guests have great holiday experiences. We’ve given much thought as to what we can offer guests as we know that slipping into our holidays is always much needed. We purchased Pearl River over 10 years ago as a peaceful and tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We both grew up in Devon and are very fond of the South Hams. Unfortunately we do not have the time to stay at Pearl River Cottage as often as we (or especially Bridgette & Luna, our Miniature Schnauzers) would like, which is why we make every effort to welcome you in the hope that you derive the same amount of pleasure from your stay as we do.
Why they chose this property
Pearl River Cottage is a very cosy cottage. It originally belonged to the church in the village before becoming a privately owned property. It is located in a quiet setting yet is only minutes into Kingsbridge with access to all the local amenities, as well as a short drive to the South West coast and coastal path, which links to all the fantastic beaches in the surrounding area.
This area has many fond memories for the owners and given its location and affordability makes it an ideal holiday for couples and families or simply for those who just wants to get away from it all.
