About the property
This is a truly unique penthouse apartment in the heart of beautiful Stow-on-the-Wold. This light, airy and spacious apartment within a former Methodist church, has its quirky entrance via the two flights of stairs of The Luxury Penthouse. The two bedrooms both have large en-suite bathrooms for up to five guests. Located in the village green and overlooking the oldest inn in England, the penthouse is perfect for shopping, dining and sightseeing in this stunning area.
The space
The open plan living area is a beautiful light and airy space which overlooks the village green. There are views in the distance of the rolling Cotswold countryside from the original oval church windows. This room oozes character with wooden beams and exposed stonework accentuated by a large feature clock. The relaxing lounge area has ample seating for five with a comfortable corner sofa and chair, positioned around a coffee table and side table for the essential refreshments after a day of sightseeing.
There is ample entertainment with Freeview TV and Netflix, a DVD player, WiiU console, digital Bluetooth Bose sound system and a supply of traditional board games to keep guests entertained.
Having the benefit of underfloor heating for cosy warmth in the winter and plenty of fans and sky lights to let in the fresh air in summer.
The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, integrated fridge, microwave, ice maker, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. The central island with integrated hob and contemporary bar stools, create a very social space for preparing meals. There is a spacious dining area to seat five comfortably. In keeping with the wonderful history of this beautiful building, there is a wooden storage pew stocked with board games for after dinner entertainment!
The 'Tick-Tock' Room is a large, airy space with exposed beams and velux window. The pocket sprung beds, choice of all seasons duvets and soft or firm pillows will ensure you feel truly rested. The beds can be configured as two single or a spacious super-king. For families of 5 or groups of friends, there is an option of an additional guest bed.
There is ample storage, a television, hanging space and a large chest of drawers. Leading from the room is a spacious private en-suite with generous shower, full-sized mirror storage unit, WC and basin.
‘The Chimes' room is a cosy double bedroom, bursting with features. Beds can be configured as two small singles or as one king upon request. This room has Jack and Jill access to a large en-suite which also leads back to the open plan living area. There is a full-sized bath and shower, perfect for a relaxing soak and a large cupboard with built-in wardrobe and storage space.
The penthouse offers flexible accommodation; ideal for a family of four or five, couples or friends.
Guest access
Through the doors of this stunning former Methodist church (dating back to the 1800's) is a lobby, with a separate door to the private entrance. Please be advised that there is no lift to access the apartment and guests will need to climb two flights of stairs.
Sustainability
The apartment has been built to modern day standards and includes internal insulation, under floor heating throughout (which is 25% more efficient than radiators).
We plant a tree for every booking we make to help offset some of the carbon emissions generated by our stays.
