About this property

Beautifully renovated two bedroom cottage in the heart of the Dyfi Valley

Bwthyn Gweilch is situated in the historic market town of Machynlleth, in the heart of the Dyfi Valley, bordering the Snowdonia National Park and Cambrian Mountains. The cottage is minutes from the town where you will find shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Situated in just one of 6 UK UNESCO Biospheres, this area has much to explore. Amazing beaches, the Dyfi Osprey Project and Cadair Idris are a short drive away. If you enjoy walking, biking or relaxing then this area is a must!

Bwthyn Gweilch, translated into English means Osprey Cottage is located on a quiet terraced street with on street parking. Recently renovated with central heating, Bwthyn Gweilch is a cosy two bedroom cottage, complete with original beams. It has light, bright, airy rooms with a homely feel. As you enter the property you immediately find yourself in the living space where you will find two sofas and TV/DVD with freeview and access to Wifi. The shower room, also situated on the ground floor, comprises walk in shower, basin and toilet. To the back of the property is the kitchen with kettle, toaster, built in oven, hob, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The dining area within the kitchen comprises a circular table and 4 chairs. The Velux window, large windows and double doors give the kitchen/dining room a lovely spacious feel. There is a cosy two tiered outdoor area. There is a dining area directly outside the back of the cottage, some of which is undercover. Stone steps lead up to the terrace a great place to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor. The front bedroom with double bed with integral storage and separate wardrobe. From this room you get a glimpse of the beautiful Dyfi Valley. The second bedroom with a bunkbed and 'tallboy'. A travel cot can be provided, on request.

We allow one well behaved dog. No dogs allowed upstairs or on the furniture.

Please get in touch if you are planning on bringing bikes as we do not allow them in the property. I can arrange storage, which will be an extra charge direct to the storage facility.

Spotlessly clean cottage, very well placed

The cottage was just as expected from the pictures, very clean and well provided. Welsh hills visible in almost all directions and only a few minutes' walk from the town.

Lovely little cottage

Really handy location for local places to eat in the evening without having to walk more than a couple of minutes or drive! Spotless and very comfortable for 4 people, although not much space for dogs to run around in the garden if you’re taking one that is all I would say. Although we were out and about with ours most of the time so didn’t matter anyway. Also couldn’t find any dog bowls so maybe take some. Lots of useful info provided by the host and provisions such as hand soap, loo roll and even a few tea bags had been provided which was lovely. Beds nice and comfy. Really good location for drives to beaches and falls, and Climbing trails a plenty. Thanks for a lovely time Julia!

Lovely Cottage

The cottage was clean and comfortable and in a great location to the town where there was lots of different options to eat out. It was a great base to explore Mid and North Wales. Julie responded quickly to any correspondence we had. It was a bonus we could bring the dog with too.

The owner (Julia?) was really helpful when the hob briefly defeated us. What I didn't like about the whole process was VRBO failing to acknowledge when I changed, kept telling VRBO, that there were three of us going. Made it needlessly stressful.
