Superb location

Superb location in Lynton. The best place to stay for access to the town, walks and funicular down to Lynmouth. Good view of the bay from up on the terrace too. Just bear in mind that the kitchen is a spiral staircase and two flights of stairs away from the terrace. Accommodation is good for a couple & dog, providing you’re ok with the.spiral staircase. Everything is clean and well presented and an ideal location for a long weekend. Lynton & Lynmouth are excellent, very dog friendly and lots to do, along with an incredible coastline for walks. Great stay!

Enjoyable stay

Beautiful view, lovely town, great base for hiking South West Coastal Path and Exmoor National Park, spiral staircase was fine for us, but could be a challenge for people with mobility issues, be ready for climbing lots of hills. :) I especially appreciated all the books with details on trails in the area. We used those to plan many of our days.

Coachmans quarters

grill pan left in a disgusting state in the oven upon arrival. Stain on pillowcase and outside terrace steps covered in leaves potentially slippy if wet. Spiral staircase more tricky than expected.But,. Overall a fabulous holiday and the issues raised should easily be rectified.

Perfect location

The Coachman's Quarters is in a great location, with shops and restaurants in Lynton on the doorstep. It's also right by the zig zag path down to Lynmouth (quite a steep climb back up but there is the cliff railway!) and by the path towards valley of the rocks. The best thing about the place is the private terrace looking out over the sea. We ate almost every meal up there! It is a bit of a walk from the kitchen with food and drink (narrow spiral staircase, another staircase and then steps up from the living room door) but it is absolutely worth it. The house has been beautifully refurbished with a modern feel, and it was really nice and clean. We had a lovely relaxing week exploring the local area - didn't need to use the car at all. Would definitely recommend!

A Lot of Stairs

We probably chose the wettest week ever for our holiday to Lynton so our first impressions of Coachman's Quarters were not great. To avoid getting drenched we used the kitchen entrance at the bottom of the property accessed past all the bins for the whole building. The kitchen was dark and slightly damp smelling but beautifully fitted out and immaculately clean. The spiral staircase to the bedroom floor is very narrow and it's quite a challenge carrying things up. The bedroom and bathroom again are very pleasant and clean but no view from the window. Going up a second normal staircase brings you to the lounge with glazed doors leading outside. To our huge disappointment we found there were no views from this room either. We thought the advertising photos showing the terrific view were very misleading. You have to go out of the doors up yet more metal stairs to reach a path which takes you to a terrace area which indeed has wonderful views towards the sea. In one of the photos it shows a table set out for a meal with the view beyond, the idea of carrying food up all those stairs is frankly laughable. Having said that we did have a lovely week in Lynton and the property is very handy for the town centre with all its cafés and restaurants.

4 Tage Lynton

Die Wohnung war hübsch und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Die vielen Treppen waren etwas mühsam und der Sitzplatz recht weit weg. Auch war er eher ungepflegt. Die Aussicht war wiederum super schön.

Property great if you are fit ( which we are). I think otherwise you would struggle up and down the very narrow stairs. Great views over the bay east walk into Lynton which is a lovely billage
