Disliked: Location

Location of the house was a major drawback.

House was basically ok, lots of issues with various fixtures and fittings. Main problem was the noise of traffic on both roads above and in front of the house! The house is on a very steep, short hill with difficult turnings into and out of both the road and the hard standing in front of the car port. Basically, a single lane road, with no passing places as road too short. Used as a rat run between 2 major routes in and out of Holmfirth. Photos don’t show this problem, and description of the area is totally inadequate! Writing that there may be some traffic noise is misleading, to say the least. Wouldn’t have stayed here if we’d known about the situation in advance. Saving grace was the car port and the large area of hard standing for the properties. Car port is ok for a medium sized family car. We had a roof box on which fitted in the port, but car had to be parked very close to one wall and only the driver could use their door when inside. Good points are shopping facilities are 5 minutes walk into the town centre, so no need to use a car unless you need a supermarket other than the Coop, which is very good here. Holmfirth is a lovely town with independent businesses, shops, cafes and restaurants. Good access to Huddersfield, Peak District, Yorkshire Moors etc. Sorry not To be more positive. We rented for 2 weeks and were glad to leave in the end due to the situation of the property. Others may be more tolerant of traffic and very awkward driving conditions than us!

Modern house but noisy

Very nice modern property, beautifully done. Was a bit difficult to find as Google drops the pin in the wrong place but the property manager was very helpful. Furniture, especially the beds were very comfortable. Many amenities included making a comfortable stay. It was annoying that guest have to do quite a bit of cleaning including stripping all linen with a 10am check out. Property was also quite draft.
