About this property

Fairwater Lodges - Shepherd Hut Holiday, dog friendly with hot tub

Here at Fairwater Lodges we have 2 bespoke wooden lodges set in the heart of Devon on in an ANOB area on a 13 acre smallholding.

Our lodges are heated by their own log burners, fitted with double glazing and have plenty of insulation so are suitable to be used all year round.

In their outside area each of the lodges are enclosed, making them dog friendly! They have their own BBQ area and their own private wood fired hot tub too.

On the grounds we have 2 ponds, one of which is stocked with trout and you are welcome to fish on, the other is our wildlife pond which is home to our 3 ducks. We also have sheep, pigs and chickens. You are welcome to collect the eggs from the chickens for your breakfast!

Each lodge has their own kitchen area complete with microwave oven, hob, kettle and toaster. They have their own bathroom complete with a shower. They each also have their own king size bed, sofa bed, TV and small table with chairs with an outdoor decking area looking out over the Blackdown countryside.

We are pet friendly and welcome 1 dog per lodge at an additional charge of £10 per night.

We provide 1 small net of logs during your stay. We have more logs available on offer for either £4/£6.50 per net. If you are wanting to bring your own logs we recommend kiln dried logs for the hot tub as they heat the water far quicker than any other logs.

We have a selection of extras to add to your stay:
-Romance & Birthday packages
-Hot tub lighting
-Log burner lighting
-Robe hire
-Pack of pork sausages

The area lends itself to wonderful walks around the Blackdown Hills and is in easy each to both the North and South Devon coastlines.

Lovely Rural Retreat

We had a wonderful stay in Deer Lodge. Very cosy with the wood burner on. Fantastic views of the countryside and Wellington Monument. The sheep, ducks and birds were very entertaining. It is close to lots of great places to visit. The Donkey Sanctuary was great and has a lovely cafe with sea views. Sidmouth is great for a refreshing walk. Wellington Monument is a must for fantastic views. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderfully relaxing break with our dog.

Very helpful hosts, our dog found a gap and got out and within minutes, it was secured. We also had a visit to check we were getting on OK with the wood burner. 10/10

Lovely place to stay

We had a lovely weekend away!! Great location and lovely views, nice and quiet also, only downside we would say is that we read the description and it stated that linen was provided, when we arrived there were 2 small what we would call hand towels/small body towels on the bed. There was no hand towel in the bathroom, no floor mat for when you get out the shower. No soap to wash your hands with after using the loo, little basic needs but we didn't bring these as we expect these to already be provided given the price we paid. This aside we would come again, just a shame we had to compromise baring in mind we used the hot tub as well so them 2 small towels didn't stretch very far. We had a meal at a local pub called ' Catherine wheel' and it was so lovely, food was great. Definitely recommend that as a local place to eat or even go for a drink.

Duck lodge

The lodges are beautiful and have an amazing view. They are very clean and have everything needed. The service isn’t the best which is lovely for a getaway. Rebecca is brilliant and was able to accommodate all of our requests, she also replied to all messages sent really quickly which was so kind.
