We stayed for 4 nights, and it was wonderful. Very quiet, just far enough off the beaten track. Charming little steam train along the bottom of the garden once a day. Accommodation very clean and welcoming.
Absolutely brilliant, the location is surrounded by nature but only a 10 minute walk to the village shops & pubs. Really comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, modern and spotlessly clean.
Would highly recommend and will be booking another trip in future
We really enjoyed our vacation. The accommodation is very nice and modern. The view of nature is fantastic and the beautiful Beddgelert is only a 10-minute walk away. A clear number one.
We were so please to be able to stay at this incredible property, the location was perfect, the natural surroundings were gorgeous, the hosts had set the house up so beautifully, we couldn't have wished for anymore!
Stayed at Derwen Fach for 7 nights from 26th December 2023, stunning location, spectacular views, beautiful house, decor & layout spot on. Easy 10 minute walk into Beddgelert, would definately recommend & return 👍
We’ve had a fantastic stay. The house is warm and welcoming, beds are really comfortable and the welcome treats were extremely thoughtful and generous. The views are really lovely and the hosts are really friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend enough
The house is beautiful, secluded, with stunning views. Only a 10 minute walk into the village, with Porthmadog a 15 minute drive away. The owners are fabulous and the house has everything and more that you could need. We had a great week (despite the rain) and will definitely return.
A perfect base to explore Snowdonia National Park.
Absolutely loved our stay in Derwen Fach. It’s a beautiful, modern barn conversation that has everything you need as a base for exploring all that the Snowdonia National Park has to offer. Amazing views from the living room, a cracking log burner to keep you toasty on colder nights, and great communication (and welcome pack) from our hosts. We would definitely stay again!
Third time here now and we love the place. Great views and excellent property all round. Nothing too much trouble for the owners who respond quickly to any queries.
A great barn conversion sitting amongst several mountains. Short walk into Beddgelert, which is lovely. Steam trains pass by several times a day. A truly brilliant stay.
Climb Moel Hebog if you dare.

A home from home cottage. Just perfect and highly recommend. The hosts could not be more helpful. Will definitely be back.
A beautiful place to stay beautiful surroundings and views. Host was more than helpful. Great communication. Property was outstanding. Would definitely go there again to stay lovely for peace and quiet and a lovely wind down to hectic life.
Our second stay in this stunning property in picturesque Beddgelert, Snowdonia. The house is a modern, beautifully converted barn. With everything you could wish for to make your stay perfect. Would definitely return again. Hosts were very easy to contact if needed, and had left a fabulous welcome pack of delicious locally produced favourites.
A perfect base for exploring North Wales and Snowdonia. Peaceful rural setting within easy walk of Beddgelert. Amazing view and surrounded by Heritage Narrow Gauge Railway so perfect for Steam Engine enthusiasts. Beautifully fitted out with well equipped kitchen and bathrooms, and two spacious bedrooms. Everything you could want and more.
This property lived up to all expectations. The decor, furniture and all equipment was of the highest standard. There was no aspect of the description which was exaggerated. The setting was extremely secluded and private. There are no near neighbours. This is a highly recommended destination in the heart of amazing countryside.
On the drive up to the property the views were breathtaking, the views of Snowdon and the Menai strait are difficult to describe in their beauty. The instructions given by the hosts were clear and we found the property with ease. The cottage is just as described, the photos on here are very true to the image in person. The 2 bedrooms were light and clean with plenty of space in both. The 2 bathrooms were clean and modern with fresh towels and hand soap provided. It is clear that this has been modernised with eyes to detail as the kitchen and living space were elegantly decorated. The gift basket and treats for our daughter upon arrival were thoughtful and indicative of Garth and Llinos hosting style.
The train traveling past the cottage was a lovely event and the views are indescribable! The photos on here really don’t do justice to the gorgeous setting in which Derwen Fach sits. The sound of the babbling brook can be heard and it just adds to the tranquility of the setting.
I have tried my hardest to describe the indescribable in this review but it can only be believed when seen with your own eyes.
If you are considering this cottage as a holiday stay I would give you this advice, do it! You will not regret staying at Derwen Fach, we cannot wait to visit again!
Very nice place to stay. The Prince Llewelyn pub is a 10-minute walk and a great place for drinks and food.
The property was clean and had everything we needed.
Definitely recommend.
Second time at this property and we have already booked for next year. Just a wonderful location and view and a truly exceptional quality property. Very nice welcome hamper with Bara Brith and other goodies. Thanks for another great stay.
We can’t say enough good things about Derwen Fach. The quality of this cottage and furnishings was a delight, a really beautiful conversion and spotlessly clean. The location is spectacular yet walking distance if Beddgelert. The generous welcome basket included thoughtful things for our teenage children, who are not too old to appreciate hallowe’en sweets and chocolates 🙂. Friendly, responsive hosts too, all just lovely.
Derwen Fach is a beautiful cottage barm conversion and is kitted out with very modern appliances, and comfy beds upstairs and down. The cottage was very warm but if it got a tad chilly it has a nice wood burning stove to take the edge of off. It's nestled right in the middle of a loop of the Welsh Highland railway and we enjoyed watching the trains go by with a cup of coffee on the patio with a stunning backdrop of the mountains in the distance. Despite not being in view behind a hill - the cottage is a mere 10 minute walk from the centre of Beddgelert where we enjoyed meals in the Tanronnin Inn or having a takeaway pizza from Glaslyn Pizzeria. There are many walks available immediately from the cottage such as up Moel Hebog or along the Aberglaslyn Pass. The host Gareth was very welcoming and answered all our questions - and had left a delightful little welcoming pack of some Welsh goodies on our arrival. We had a fantastic time, despite the mixed weather and would certainly book here again.
