All the essentials were provided to ensure a great holiday experience - comfy beds, plenty of kitchen equipment and a useful utility room and also books/ board games/dvd's etc in event of inclement weather. Fantastic location in a charming, friendly village with all amenities literally on your doorstep. Make sure to book restaurants and pubs in advance during high season. The Dog House is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We appreciated the biscuits for humans and the doggy treat bag too. Great stay.

It is a great, exceptional house recently refurbished, with good beds, excellent bed linnen and towels, all great showers and a great kitchen (including Nespresso machine). Netflix is an added bonus for the evenings after a challenging hike. Porlock is great for exploring Exmoor with a couple of good pubs and restaurants.

The central Porlock location is perfect for walking in many directions. There are many maps available inside the front door that guided us around the area. Fast internet and good mobile signal (best in the courtyard) meant that we could work when necessary and book restaurants easily.

We have stayed in many cottages (plus 50) across the UK and Europe and this was in the top 2 of best equipped. We like to cook and enjoy the benefits of the cottages we stay in and we literally wanted for nothing in the kitchen - very impressed! The bedding was excellent - great pillows and duvets. The location was excellent and close to all amenities, the beach, and great walks. Lovely touch with the doggy biscuits, poop bags and 2 dog beds. Be sure to book ahead in high season for restaurants and takeouts.

Great Porlock holiday

Very clean and modern interior. Spacious and comfortable. Excellent location for the village and coastal walks. Parking was a little complicated. Maybe a BBQ in the garden would be nice. Overall very pleasant and we would happily book again.
