Historic and charming Grade 2 Listed Medieval house built around 1475, recently sensitively renovated, retaining character and charm, and steeped in history. Set in a friendly village in the heart of the countryside, yet within easy reach of the whole of the Kent coast.. Lower Ground Floor:

Please note: Due to its age and Listed status, unfortunately, this property is not suitable for guests with restricted mobility.. This beautiful medieval cottage was built circa 1475 during the war of the roses as part of the St Mary’s college/university to house and educate the secular canons. This deceptively spacious property is set out over four floors and offers a wealth of history, charm and character, retaining its original period features throughout like its aesthetic inglenook fire places and medieval bread oven, yet offers the essential modern facilities and amenities.
Situated in the heart of this picturesque village on the Roman road in between Canterbury and the Cinque Port of Sandwich. Unlike most villages, Wingham has a Michelin star Gastro Pub, Indian restaurant, Well stocked shop with off-license, and a both pubs are in easy walking distance and have won national awards for food, beverages and entertainment.
For a family day out, the cottage is between Wingham Wildlife park and the world famous Aspinal foundation Howletts Zoo park, nearby are a wealth of nature reserves. And historic sites, museums, castles and countryside. Within close proximity of the coast in 3 directions, and a short drive from the World Heritage sites in the famous historic city of Canterbury which offers plenty for all, from museums, shopping, dining, cinemas, pubs and bars, or simply learning the history of Kent. The world famous St George’s golf course at Sandwich is one of several nearby. Within an hour of both London and France, from Canons Hall Cottage you can submerge yourself in historic charm and cultural experience whilst relaxing and enjoying the many attractions of the surrounding “Garden of England” countryside and coast.
