About this property
Menai View - Luxury Cottages
At a glance
Set on a hillside with breath-taking views across the Menai Strait and Snowdonia Every room has direct access to outside space Close to the charming town of Beaumaris with its impressive castle
About the property
Menai View comprises a luxurious apartment and a separate guest room to provide flexible accommodation for a multi-generational family, or a group of friends. Set in a 4-acre site on Anglesey's stunning coast, Menai View has spectacular views across the Menai Strait and the Snowdonia mountain range. With a south-facing aspect and plenty of outdoor space, including gardens and a magnificent terrace, you can make the most of sunny days with a barbecue lunch or early evening drinks. With easy access to the Anglesey Coastal Path, you can have your fill of fresh sea air, whilst the nearby town of Beaumaris is perfect for shopping for gifts or a tasty dinner out.
The space
Menai View comprises an apartment and a neighbouring guest room.
The apartment is part of the owners' home but is self-contained with a private entrance at the upper level. It sleeps four guests (including up to two children aged 12 years old and over) in two spacious bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower/bath, WC, basin and bidet. Designed to be light, spacious and comfortable, there are solid oak heated floors throughout and access to outside space from every room.
Down a few steps, there's a kitchen equipped with everything you'd expect for self-catering including a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Also on this level is the spacious living and dining area with a sofa, armchairs, TV/DVD player and a dining table.
Off the front bedroom and the living area, there is a south-facing terrace enclosed by a glass balustrade where the views of the Menai Strait, mountains and Bangor Pier are completely uninterrupted.
Meanwhile, the separate, self-contained guest room is located at ground level and offers additional accommodation suitable for a couple - perfect for the grandparents perhaps. It has a large bedroom with a king-size bed, underfloor heating and an en-suite shower room, as well as a small fridge and a TV. As a former art studio it is flooded with natural light from the ceiling-height windows and the views are truly inspiring, while the secluded terrace is a sublime spot to soak up the sun.
Guest access
Guests will be greeted by the owners on arrival. There is ample parking accessed via a moderately steep driveway. A stay at Menai View also includes access to four acres of grounds that include terraced lawns, a patio area, a wildlife pond, a woodland and more of those stunning coastal views.
Sustainability
Menai View benefits from internal insulation, underfloor heating (that is 25% more efficient than radiators) and passive solar gain due to its south-facing aspect. Harvested rainwater is used in the garden, while water from the well feeds the wildlife pond and outdoor tap. Containers for recycling paper, glass, metal, plastic and food waste are provided, while reusable shopping bags are supplied in case you forget yours.
