About this property

Stylish & cosy annexe in pretty sailing village

Summary:
Here’s a distinctive 1 bedroom annex, known as the cosy annexe, within walking distance of Itchenor Sailing Club, that’s ready to make you welcome to this attractive part of the world. Known locally as ‘God’s Pocket’ thanks to a climate that’s often milder than the rest of the country, staying in this nautically themed house in West Sussex will not only make it easy for you to reach the sailing club, it’s also close to Chichester and Goodwood. And there’s a private parking space right outside.

The Space:
Here’s a quaint and rather unique one bedroom detached house in Itchenor that reflects the region's nautical links. You’ll see that as soon as you pull up into your private off-road parking space, thanks to the seafaring weather vane that sits atop the house above a window that could well be a porthole in a ship!

Enter through the front door and you’re into a snug and sophisticated world that reflects the modern preference for open plan living. The lounge and kitchen area is a prime example, featuring a sofa and twin armchairs, plus breakfast bar stools. There’s a wall-mounted flat-screen TV in here to keep you entertained on those occasions you’re not out enjoying the local attractions. And the kitchenette is fully equipped with quality appliances that will help you live more like you do when you’re home, including a microwave, stovetop and fridge/freezer. (Please note there is no oven.)

There’s also the bonus of a downstairs loo, handy if you don’t want to head upstairs. And that's where you’ll find the home’s bedroom, beautifully presented, of course, with a double bed offering somewhere tranquil to rest after a long day at sea or by the sea. There’s an ensuite shower room with WC and washbasin in here, so you can freshen up at the end of each day, or at the start of each new one, so you’re ready to discover more of the joys of staying in Itchenor.

The Neighborhood:
Welcome to Itchenor, a village in West Sussex with a long sailing history. It’s famed for its yachting facilities and sailing club, so if you’re in the region for a sailing event or occasion, staying in this quiet and attractive 1 bedroom house will really make your stay special. You’ll be able to walk to the sailing club from the house, and handily, there’s a pub within easy walking distance too.

If you’re bringing your car, then you’ll have a variety of places close by that you can visit (or order a cab to get there):

Goodwood - for the Festival of Speed, Glorious Goodwood and other race meetings from May to October.

Chichester - a popular city for shopping, eating and drinking, and it has its own cathedral too.

Chichester Harbour - you can book boat trips here or catch the Itchenor Ferry.

West Wittering - there are miles of sandy beaches for the whole family to enjoy here. You can even enjoy a coastal walk from Itchenor all the way here, one of the many walks you might like to try in the area.

Getting Around:
Driving here is recommended as the house is located in a quiet neighbourhood, and you might as well make use of the free, off-road parking space that’s right outside the house! You can, of course, choose to order cabs to drive you to wherever you want to go, and your hosts will be happy to recommend the best ones.
The nearest major railway station is in Chichester, and from there you can catch train services to Brighton, Southampton, Portsmouth, Littlehampton and even up to London.

Interaction with Guests:
Your hosts will do all they can to ensure your stay in this 1 bedroom house in Itchenor is a relaxing and memorable experience. You will have the whole house to yourselves, and exclusive use of the parking space at the front of the property. Your host team will be on-hand to help, providing assistance and advice if and when you need it.

Small and quaint

Perfect property for the two of us. The property was extremely clean and tidy in a great location. Great pub with restaurant in walking distance. The neighbourhood was very quiet as it was in small village which was wonderful. Would definitely want to stay there again.

An excellent property in a quiet and convenient location

The house is situated in a short cul-de-sac and is very clean and comfortable and quiet, with hardly any traffic. It is situated a few minutes walk from from Itchenor Harbour which has coastal footpaths in each direction. There is a nearby pub which serves excellent meals. Next to the boatyard there is a quiet cafe with outside seating where you can watch the many sailing boats in the harbour.

Early short break

This was meant to be a short break to relax after a busy few weeks, but unfortunately the journey there and lots of rain managed to spoil that. Fortunately the cottage and the surrounding area were lovely, so I did get enjoy the trip. Beware of the low ceilings in the bedroom - I still managed to hit my head frequently even tho' I knew they were there!!
