Looking for a unique home-stay with a difference? This spacious and beautiful property set within the grounds of the Watlington Estate, has been awarded best new tourism business in the East of England. With a hot tub and stunning walled gardens, The Stable Cottage is a large detached property overlooking a unique bird, deer and antelope conservation project.
The owners are passion for conservation makes The Stable Cottage a fascinating place to stay. As well as enjoying the beautiful property, you are offered a welcome tour in the morning after your arrival where you will be shown around the reserve. After being acquainted with your buggies, which you are free to use whenever you like during your stay, you have the chance to encounter many rare species of deer, antelope, water buffalo and the extremely rare Great Bustard that became nationally extinct in 1832.
This large property is a great destination any time of the year and features spacious and relaxed living areas with an open fire, a stunning triple aspect garden room, perfect for dining with groups of friends or family and taking in the stunning setting. There are three bedrooms on the first floor as well as a ground floor bedroom and shower room. All have bathroom facilities, and there's a luxury four-poster in the master suite.
The village itself is easily reached in just over an hour and a half by train from London via a direct line, with the option of guests being collected from the village railway station. Leave your car at home and let the train take the strain.
