About this property

Incredible Mountain Views just Steps to the Flathead River

Surrounded with incredible mountain views, this charming cabin is located near the west entrance to Glacier National Park in the remote North Fork of the Flathead Valley in Polebridge, MT and is approximately 5 miles from the Canadian border.

Our cozy cabin is off-grid and situated in the ideal vacation spot to experience the untouched lands of the North Fork yet enjoy some of the conveniences of home. There is indoor 'on demand' hot water and a generator should electricity be occasionally needed. Our cabin also offers a full indoor bath, kitchen furnished with basic eating and cooking utensils, propane refrigerator, propane range, living area, dining area, etc. The ambiance is superb with the warmth of quaint propane wall sconces providing light each night. Linens & towels provided.

Sleeps 4 people comfortably (extra nightly charge for more than 4 guests). Futon folds out into a queen bed, bunk bed offers double bed on bottom & twin on top if needed.

Chairs are provided on the porch to relax & enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The cabin is convenient to many North Fork attractions including The Polebridge Mercantile, Northern Lights Saloon/Restaurant and Glacier National Park. The 'MERC' provides groceries, fresh ground coffee and home baked treats (Danish, bread and sandwiches, etc,) gifts, gas, propane, film, fishing tackle and beer while the Northern Lights Saloon/Restaurant serves excellent food in a rustic style restaurant and pub. Glacier National Park is rich in wildlife and offers plenty of outdoor adventure with boating, hiking, biking, fishing, and cross country skiing.

Please note, this cabin (as well as all properties in the North Fork area) is off grid and cannot accommodate a CPAP machine or those with special medical conditions.

The North Fork Road is an unpaved mountain road and the condition is dependent upon the weather conditions. You can expect some potholes due to snow melt, etc. We recommend traveling in a truck or SUV.

Great little cabin!
Cabin was great for my wife and myself, we stayed for 9 nights. Did quite a bit of cooking at the cabin and found kitchen to be sufficient. Great view of mountains from the dining table and from the front porch. Would gladly stay again!

Great Cabin with an Amazing Mountain View
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The cabin was clean and had everything our family of four need for a few nights stay. We loved sitting on the porch to watch the sun come up over the mountains. We were able to meet the hosts and they were so kind and friendly. Would highly recommend and stay again.

Awesome
This property was awesome. Simple, very clean, well laid out with instructions for everything. We have been to this area many times and this place checks all the boxes for us. The only thing I wish we may have had was a.small ring for the evening

Very remote and off the grid as far as cell service but the cabin had all the essentials and was pretty awesome. Great view but saw no bears. Loved it tho!

great mountain views, peaceful, cozy polebridge cabin
we enjoyed our stay at this off-grid cabin! great mountain views, 5 min walk down by the flathead river, peaceful, cozy, comfy beds. We ate at both the northern lights saloon and home ranch bottoms and they had great food. The huckleberry bear claws and sticky buns were so yummy from the Polebridge Merc! We explored the north fork area and went to red meadow lake and bowman lake! Thank you so much for a great stay! We hope to be back some day! Glacier is AMAZING!

Week of solitude
Beautiful setting—tucked in woods with beautiful view of mountains of Glacier. Just me and Nature. North Fork River was beautiful and short walk away. I had great access into Glacier as well as surrounding trails just to the West of Glacier. Cabin was exactly as described. It was clean, neat and cozy. Highly recommend! I plan to return.

Refreshing!
Very Remote! Unplug and relax, this place was perfect for us! We hiked hard in east Glacier for the first 3 days of our trip, then finished the trip with 3 days here. It was perfect to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Lots of wildlife right out the front door! Kintla and bowman lakes are close and the Huckleberry bear claws in Polebridge are a must!

Heaven on Earth in Montana
This property is absolutely stunning, with scenery and seclusion well worth the drive. The property manager was extremely responsive and provided thorough instructions prior to and upon our arrival. We took the walking path from the cabin to Flathead River and caught about 15 white fish and cutthroat trout within an hour. The cabin far exceeded our expectations, as it was well-stocked, very clean, and beautifully maintained. We hope to be back for a longer stay next time.

Wow, Just Wow.
We cannot express how magical and serene this property is. The home was bigger than expected! It was really special how remote the location is. The view was our favorite part. Don’t miss the sunset, it is truly breathtaking. The river is a short 2-3 minute walk and once you get there you have your own private cove. We cannot wait to come back.

Cabin R & R
Wonderful place to end our backpacking/camping trip. Striking mountain views with peaceful privacy. Close enough to the National Park and Polebridge to visit with easy access , but still felt "far away" from it all. The propane was easy to use once you understand the directions which gave us a nice warm, much need shower. The lanterns were cozy and romantic and added a fun cabin atmosphere. We added another night to our reservation due to heavy rain and Johnnie got right back to us regarding our extended stay which elevated a lot of stress. So thank you!

Great spot to explore the north fork
The cabin was clean, cozy & comfortable. The gas lamps and generator were easy to use and were more than adequate for lighting, hot water and charging devices. The listing is accurate. Johnny even let us check in a little early since we were so tired from not sleeping on the empire builder - thank you again btw! The main thing to note is that this is quite far up the *partially unpaved* North Fork road far from the main Glacier NP areas. And now you need an online reservation to access the park in the north fork area but the nearest cell service/ internet is ~45 mins away… a logistical challenge for sure but we made it work. Polebridge is only ~10 mins away with its general store, bar, supplies store and friendly locals. (You might even be lucky enough to let someone use their WiFi to book a GTTS or North Fork reservation- use a VPN set to Ashburn VA to make sure you skip the local traffic!) If you’re looking for a cozy off the grid cabin far removed from any hustle and bustle this is your spot for sure. We enjoyed our stay and the remoteness of the cabin and felt welcomed by Johnny and the locals of Polebridge.

Amazing experience in the wilderness.
Had a great experience, had everything we needed. Great location - access to upper Glacier National Park entrances, aprox. 200 yards walk to the river. We were just a couple, but there is plenty of room for a family (we didn't try it, but I suggest two adults sleep on the futon. it was a little awkward using the bottom bunk bed, and the futon mattress might even be more comfy.) Had all amenities we needed (no laundry), lanterns, generator and appliances were easy to operate. Would suggest a box fan to help cool the cabin before bed for air circulation (electronics work on generator.) Picture in listing is sunrise to the west. Saw deer on our two night stay. Great experience and would stay again.

Polebridge cabin
The cabin was absolutely wonderful but the rotation was absolutely horrible. I know that it was said and it’s off and unpaved road but the distance wasn’t really clarified. In relationship to glacier national Park it was not a good location to stay at. We were so disappointed and the owner had no understanding for our difficult situation. My friend became very anxious because of how remote it was and how everyone in the area told us that there were many forest fires in the local area. I would not recommend this cabin to anyone who is visiting glacier national Park because it is way too far.

Amazing rental property
Absolutely gorgeous! Amazing views, very secluded, close to river and close to glacier national park. Rough road up going up there, would definitely recommend SUV or truck. It is about an hour away from getting gas for your vehicle. I would recommend you filling up before going to glacier national park or when you leave the park for the next day. Worth the trip up there. You will not be disappointed.

Cozy little cabin
I cannot express how much my boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay. The views from the cabin were absolutely gorgeous. The cabin was spotless and the property manager responded very quickly to a question I had about access to the river. I've been visiting Montana since 2006 and I've been all over the state. This place is in my top 3 favorite places!! We will definitely be returning!!! I highly recommend!!!!

We loved it!
If you are truly wanting to unplug from the rat race, this is your place. Without electronics you learn how to appreciate nature. Open the windows, pour a glass of wine, and soak it all in. We saw lots of deer and ground squirrels. We know there are bears in the vicinity but didn't see any. Be sure to grab some huckleberry bear claws in Polebridge on your way in and eat them for breakfast. Note: The Polebridge entrance to GNP is mostly for serious hikers. The roads are pretty rough and narrow. The hiking trails take you to the scenic lakes and such. If you are having trouble getting a pass for the West Glacier entrance, look up the Red Bus Tours. They are worth the money. Invest in a Thermacell if you plan to spend time on the porch. There are a few skeeters hovering about.
