You are staying in a monumental building. Before it was a Bathhouse where the people from the neighborhood used to shower when they had no showers at home. It closed as a bathhouse in 1985. One Room is a former machine room of the Bathhouse with high ceiling of 5 meter. The other is a former ticket booth. You can still see the ticket booth and the old blue tiles of the Bathhouse. Close by there is the NDSM warf area. Here are some nice restaurants, graffiti museum Straat and lots of events during the year like flee markets and festivals. Here you can also take a free ferry to central station or pontsteiger. In front of the house there is a bus stop with good connection to the metro 52 to the center. 15-20 min to central station +5 min to museum square Also you can rent bikes here to explore the city and take them on the ferry ad NDSM to central station

Two senior couples just completing a 7-day cruise on the Rhine river. We wanted to extend our holiday a couple of days, but didn't want to stay in a hotel. This VRBO was a good solution. We chose to walk everywhere, including about 30 minutes (about a mile) to the ferry to and from Centraal Station. Note: there is a bus stop right across the street.
This was the most amazing place to stay and we can not say enough for the amenities - it is clean well kept and a pleasure to stay at! Easy access to the transit and shops and the host is fabulous! Anyone should stay here it is brilliant.
My family stayed at this cute house near the Straat museum to participate in gallery exhibit grand opening for my late father-in-law, #buzblurr. Location has bus stop in front of house and the ferry to City Center is walking distance from house. Friendly host lives in back half of house for anything needed during stay. We enjoyed our short stay.
It's not in the center of Amsterdam (which I Knew), but easy to get there via public transport. Minnie was very responsive and helpful with questions. He was also very flexible with check-in and check-out times when we had some difficulty with our other arrangements.
We loved our stay at this former boathouse! It was perfect for two couples and a great location. We enjoyed being a little out of the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam proper. Having the bus stop right across the street from the house was very convenient. The property was very clean and equipped with what we needed (coffee!). The beds were very comfortable and appreciated after our long days exploring. Minne was great to work with and very accommodating. We highly recommend this lovely property.
Very straight forward to find. Minne friendly and very quick to answer queries. As previous reviewers have said, bus stop right outside door, can't beat that! Bought one day pass for 4 of us to travel on bus, tram, metro for 17.5 euro on GVB app. We ate well in the NDSM area Nd in the centre. The boiler and road were a bit noisy but got enough sleep. Rooms warm and spacious, toiletries lovely. Thankyou for a great stay.
Host responds very quickly. Well supplied kitchen. All the furniture was comfortable and stylish, with the possible exception of the mattress in the big bedroom. It could have been a bit firmer for my liking. Our traveling companion loved everything about the other bedroom. The free ferry to the canal district was fantastic. The 20 minute walk was probably the upper limit after all day walking!
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
Rooms were spacious with a modern flair. Lots of water water for showers. Minne was a fabulous host. I like how he kept a touch of the bath house in the kitchen/living area. Bus stop across the street for easy access to the wharf, central train station and further south. The NDSM Wharf and free ferry to the train station made this a great location. The wharf area has several very good restaurants and a new museum for Street Art. It was also an easy 15-20 minute walk from the apartment to the ferry. Plenty of space for 4 people. Highly recommended by all in my group.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Location
Sparse accommodations, few local services but great access by public transit.
A graceful and pleasant host and clean but stripped-down accommodations (especially the kitchen and bedrooms) with VERY few neighbourhood amenities / services. There is great access via public transit by metro and tram to Central Amsterdam.
To improve the listing itself (you cannot change the neighbourhood!) remove the lockers in the property which serve no purpose, add a freezer, and counter space and give guests more than one meagre towel for a five day stay. Put a curtain on the front door because it looks directly into the toilet stall of the second bedroom. The weather was very hot, (and with climate change, is likely to continue) so add ceiling fans in each bedroom and in the living space.
The three lights that hang on wires from the ceiling in the main living space are boho but ridiculous! That is where the fan should go.
And possibly, offer a one-time grocery service on arrival for visitors. Everyone needs ice in hot weather, and most people want access to food that is nutritious, but simple to prepare when they return from the grime and bustle of Amsterdam.
Very convenient location. Host was very helpful, allowing us to check out 1 hour late. Kitchen is very basic but functional, not really appropriate for cooking meals. Beds were very comfortable.
Easy access on bus 35, which stops (either direction) virtually outside the apartment, to the supermarket, metro (1 stop to Amsterdam Centraal) or the NSDM Wharf. Lovely historic building with the tiles, booking window and some of the old lockers still there.
If you want to do lots of cooking in the apartment then the kitchen is a bit limited but fine otherwise.
Minne (host) was great, meeting us on arrival, quick with communications when required but didn't intrude allowing us to enjoy ourselves.
Just a note that the supermarkets don't take Visa so cash or Mastercard needed.
The apartment was very spacious and well laid out. There were 2 nice sized bedrooms and each had their own bathrooms. It was about 1/2 hour into Amsterdam central by a bus and metro. The buses ran frequently and it was quite easy to commute. The host family could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The area is quiet and residential.
Very nice place in a quiet neighborhood. Easy access to bus, which gets you to city center in about 20 min. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Would recommend.
Sehr freundlicher Vermieter!
