Great house for a family short break

We had a great stay at the Shambles made even better by some fabulous weather. The house is so well equipped with great facilities for everyone. Our granddaughter loved the play house and the hot tub was a great hit with the adults, as was the quiet spots for the grandparents to read books. The location and s also excellent with so much to see and do in the surrounding area. Our family are already angling for a return trip!!

Fantastic House in Aviemore

We had a brilliant time staying at The Shambles. The house was huge and the supply of wood for the log burner was much needed with the cold weather. Nick & Erin made us feel very welcome & provided us with a lot of information previsit as well during our stay. Can’t recommend this house enough.

Aviemore Trip

Excellent house for our multi generational family. Lots to do in Aviemore area. Walk into centre fine for adults but quite far for wee people!

The Shambles

Unlike the name suggests, this was a wonderful place to stay. Erin was so helpful. The lovely little touches of for our dog were a lovely surprise and well appreciated, we will know in future we can bring less for our 4 legged little girl. Would highly recommend. Can’t think of anything, maybe a checklist of all that is carried out before your arrival would be nice but that is coming from someone that has OCD.

Great Home

We had a great time at The Shambles. It had everything and more than you needed. The BBQ hut was great, as was the hot tub. It was a really homely place to stay. We hope to return again Only because we have twin toddlers…but the stair gate at the top was a pain, a hinged one would have been better and would have felt safer but understand why it’s the one that it is.

Just back from a fantastic family weekend at The Shambles. The Host’s were extremely helpful and when we realised the kettle wasn’t working we had a replacement in under 30 minutes. The accommodation is lovely, spacious and very well equipped. Aviemore town centre is only a short walk away from the Cottage which was perfect for going out for a family meal followed by a dip in the hot tub finished off with drinks in front of the beautiful log fire. We would have no hesitation re booking.

We had an amazing stay at the Shambles! The house was so cosy and welcoming and the hot tub and bbq hut kept us entertained all weekend. Loch Morlich is a must see and not far from the house. Thanks to Nick & Erin for having us.

Fantastic stay at Nick and Erin’s place. The house was perfect for two families, and the hot tub and bbq hut were amazing. We would definitely visit again.

Erin
Having worked in tourism for many years, I felt now was the time to give people the sustainable choices that are increasingly important to us all. So using my extensive knowledge of the local market, I have created igloo with Nick. I understand fully the needs of owners and guests, having worked in the industry for a considerable length of time in management roles within rentals, sales and lodge services.

What I love best about the job is the customer satisfaction. Ensuring that everything is as it should be when my guests arrive and that they are kept well informed before, during and after their stay. I love it when people call and you really get a chance to get to know them.

Nick
I have had two passions for as long as I can remember - Travelling and The Highlands.

Growing up here in the Highlands, I have always been passionate about its history, places, people and our world class food & drink. I am particularly fond of our local craft beers!

I love to travel and I've always enjoyed getting off beaten track and experiencing things like a local. There is no better way to do this than self-catering.

Starting igloo with Erin not only allows me to combine these two passions but brings together my design, marketing and management skills built from a varied career across the public and private sector.

I have been brought up in Aviemore, as were many generations of my family before me. So I bring a deep rooted sense of love and responsibility to the area that I live in.

Why they chose this property

The Shambles is very popular so it can be difficult to get a reservation here. Well worth booking in advance.

What makes this property unique

Two lounges makes it a popular choice and fantastic garden facilities, including a hot tub, BBQ hut and children's playhouse.
