The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates
Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted

Lovely short break

We had a lovely week in Spa Changing Rooms - it is a lovely period property, very handily located near Stow-on-the-Wold and just up the road from Lower Swell, which has lovely traditional pub (The Golden Ball) doing lovely Sunday lunches. The cottage is very well equipped, with a good sized kitchen, dining area and living room downstairs, and comfortable bedrooms on the upper floors. The stairs are steep and winding but perfectly manageable. Entry to the attic room is through a low doorway, but OK if you're reasonably agile, and the room therein is a good sized single. Bathroom is also spacious and with modern fittings. The shower is not too powerful, but does the job. Rooms are well equipped with TVs, and plenty of sockets/USB points, and there are books/DVDs/games available. The cottage is on a main road, so there is passing traffic, but not obtrusive. Plenty of parking directly across the road (although on one evening, someone else had pinched the space for Spa Changing Rooms) and nice outdoor space. A slight mark down for comfort as the chairs in the living room aren't the biggest, for kicking back and relaxing after enjoying a day out - rather short in the seat - would be the one criticism of the facilities provided. All in all though, a really pleasant stay.

Weekend

We arrived to the house and it was cold, but after I sent a text to the owners they turned the heating on, and it was perfect. Perfect cottage, perfect location, in the middle of the Cotswolds. I’ll be back.

Hello, the house was clean and in good condition. The top of microwave was really dirty only realised as had to make dinner for my daughter. And no toaster in the house? Also the stairs to the top bedroom are really steep not ideal for a 2.5 year old and I thought the rooms were all on one level as per the photos. We had a lovely stay though. Thanks

Lovely stay in the Cotswolds!

Firstly - Stay Cotswold were very helpful and amenable to questions and requests. The property is beautiful and an in a beautiful area. I was saying hello to the sheep with my morning coffee. The property is full of character but despite that the property has a modern kitchen and bathroom and was very comfortable to stay in. The property owners were also very kind both before and throughout our stay and as our stay was over the Christmas period, had decorated - that was much appreciated! The nearby villages are very nice and the pub within walking distance is a big plus. Great food in Stow and lovely walks all around. Important to remember that this is an old building, and although it is clear on the website, it should be taken into account that accessibility for those with difficulty to the top bedroom would be difficult. Thanks for a great stay!

A week at 2 Spa Changing Rooms

The property was in very good condition. Kitchen and bathroom etc all fitted out to a high standard. The cottage front door is just 3 feet from the B road to Stow. We were four adults staying so did not bother us but might if you have small children. Whilst we were there the road was closed due to bridge repairs. The neighbours said it would normally be busy. Due to the size of the bedrooms there is limited amount of storage space. Overall a nice cottage nicely furnished and we had a very enjoyable stay.

Our visit to Stow on the Wold

A great place to experience cottage life in the Cotswolds in a quaint historical home. The modern day conveniences were very much appreciated, and offered an interesting contrast to life of a few centuries ago. The only suggestion we would offer is to make sure you drive a car to the property, as walking on the highway to town is not very safe.

Quaint cottage

Charming cottage with period features, comfortable beds and well equipped for an enjoyable stay. We particularly liked the open countryside views from the top of the garden. The cottage was in a great location to explore the cotswolds, being within 30 mins drive of bourton on the water, the slaughters, bibury and Sudeley castle. The front of the cottage was right on the roadside but the traffic was quiet later in the day

Ideal Cotswald stay

Gorgeous little property, with lovely quiet garden looking out over the wonderful countryside. Immaculately clean property, very well equipped with quality appliances and crockery etc. Extremely close and convenient to Stow on th Wald and numerous other Cotswald villages. Our daughter was performing in the Opera at Longborough, this was our main reason for the visit, and so decided to make a long weekend of it, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Great Area with amenities close by

It was just a 6 day short stay for 3 of us who were looking forward to a rest and relaxation after a harrowing time. The situation of the cottage was excellent for this part of the Cotswolds and we made the most of it during our stay. The cottage was small and quirky but welcoming and the beds were clean and comfortable. It was lovely to sit in the warm sunshine at the top of the garden and to look over the extensive countryside and fields. The cottage was easy to find and handy for all amenities.
