Had a wonderful time in New Orleans with two other couples. Plenty of room and a really nice neighborhood too. The bakery and park across the street were stops every morning. Try the Kava Bun. Good grocery store down the street the opposite direction as well. And I'm a grocery store obsessive. Frenchmen street equally close which was nice and even Bourbon St. area was easily walkable on the gorgeous weekend. Friendly neighbors, great weather and a nice spot to lay your head after a full day of walking, eating and drinking.
Great location and stay! Property manager was super prompt and communicated well. Property was clean and had everything we needed. Close to everything as well and a safe neighborhood.
We absolutely loved our stay in the best neighborhood in NOLA, close enough to the tourist attractions and far enough too. The locals are fantastic, super friendly. The accommodations were everything you could ask for, the host very flexible, honest and professional
We had a great stay at the Marigny Retreat. The house was just as described, very spacious, comfortable, and neat. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming, and the house is in a great spot for getting to Frenchman street and the French Quarter while still being on a quiet street. We would definitely stay here again!
Great location and property! Short walk to French Quarter. Easy street parking, never had a problem. Everything as advertised. Would stay there again for sure.
Best place we’ve stayed in over 30 years! Loved all the comfy couches and space. Had everything we needed. One big improvement would be decent chairs on the front porch. We are porch sitters early and late and those benches are awful. Thanks for a great stay.
This is our second stay here in 2 years so that's the best review I can make is that I came back. We love this location because it is close to Frenchman, a grocery store, restaurants, and walkable to the French quarter. The house is well laid out, stocked and clean. It is also very roomy and comfortable for when you need a break from the crowds.
The walk to the hop on-hop off bus tour is just a few blocks and so is Frenchman Street. A few blocks further to the French Market. The neighborhood is transitional and easy to navigate during the day, but harder at night as there aren't a lot of lights in the area. A good place for a group of friends!
This is our 4th time renting this location and it always is great place to stay. Large Living Room/Dinning room combination offers a great space to hang out as a group. Three bathrooms is perfect for sharing. Bunk room offers space for larger groups. Place is very clean, area is safe, and heard almost no noise. The location is so close to Frenchmen St that it offers such a short walk home that you have no worries about getting home and allows you to enjoy music and food to the last drop.
This house was perfect for our group. The amenities were exactly what is needed. There were plenty of towels and dishes. Supplies (coffee filters, trash bags, soap, TP, S&P, sugar) were stocked well. The beds were reasonable. The house has more charm than the listing reflects and the neighborhood is my favorite!
The house was really nice, maybe nicer than the pictures showed. We got into town about 30 or 40 minutes early so I reached out to our host to see if we could check in.
He responded quickly to let us know it was fine. The lock on the house was a bit tricky so our host quickly showed us how to use it.
The house was clean, the neighborhood was great and we were in walking distance to restaurants and bars.
We fully enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again
Staying at this home for our family trip to NOLA made walking to Frenchman, Bourbon, Royal, and all the other French Quarter streets very easy. We had extended family staying in another VRBO home just about two blocks down so it was great being so close to them to meet up each day for whatever plans we had. The home is clean and comfortable and well stocked. We never had any problems with the home and Christopher always responded promptly. It was nice having 3 showers with the adults and teenagers.
Wanted to take my family and a few friends to experience Mardi Gras and this house was one of the better deals I found. Location was great as it was quiet but near the music of Frenchman and easy to walk into the French Quarter. Super market is just a few blocks away which is super convenient. The house was nice and spacious with easy check in / check out. My only recommendation to improve things would be the bunk beds ladders are a bit worn and 2 of the 4 bunk bed mattresses squeak a bit if you roll over. Will wake up a light sleeper. Other than that, everything else was great and would look to stay at this property again for my next visit.
The place is better than the pics. I was nervous when I saw reviews about the neighborhood but it’s just New Orleans and not a bad neighborhood at all. Frenchman St is a very short walk. 10 min walk to Cafe Du Monde. Easy to get there. The only negative was it could have been cleaned better. We found someone’s beads in the couch when we sat on it. Since they didn’t belong to any of us it means the couch wasn’t in the cleaning. Also there was a ladder and paint gallons in the laundry room/bedroom that made that bedroom unusable. But we didn’t need it since some friends who were thinking of coming ended up not coming. Overall though this was a great place
This location was a great find for a fun weekend. The space was very clean, fit everyone in my group comfortably, and we felt we had everything we needed. Frenchman Street and the French Quarter were very accessible to walk to. We didn’t need to drive once while there. Christopher the owner was very responsive and flexible. I would suggest anyone book their stay here when visiting such a fun city!
It truly was a great location. We were able to walk to Frenchman street in less than 5 minutes as well as great coffee houses. The neighborhood feels safe and the house itself is spotless. Definitly the first time I've taken a bath at a rental and trusted the bathtub was clean. The shower was actually broken though in the shared upstairs bathroom. I had some difficulty communicating with the owner, and figured out to directly text vs using the VRBO app. Owner was accomadating to special circumstances. Overall a lovely home and perfect place for a home base while visiting the area.
