About this property
Beachside Holiday Home Close to Gwithian & St Ives
Perfect for couples and small families, Wyndward is a newly refurbished, two-bedroom holiday home peacefully tucked away from the crowds on a quiet cul-de-sac in Upton Towans. The house backs on to the picturesque sand dunes of Upton Towans Nature Reserve and is a short ten to fifteen minute walk down to one of Cornwall's most stunning beaches; three miles of golden sand stretching from Godrevy lighthouse to Hayle estuary.
The south-west facing garden is a sun trap, protected by the dunes from high winds; birdsong is often the only noise you can hear. Out of the garden gate and you're straight into Upton Towans Nature Reserve, a picturesque warren of sand dunes leading to the sea. The dunes themselves are a playground for kids and adults, perfect for runs and walks. They also make a stunning vantage point for sunset-watching, barbecues and picnics with views along the coast stretching for miles.
Walk through the dunes from the house and you can be down on a wide open and quiet section of the beach in 10-15 minutes. Here you're met with miles of golden sand that draw in surfers, windsurfers, beachgoers and walkers. Turn left and you can walk for miles into Hayle estuary and beyond. Turn right and soon you're at lifeguard-patrolled Gwithian beach, with rock pools at low tide and the stunning National Trust Godrevy headland and lighthouse with its seal spotting opportunities.
There are some great eateries and pubs nearby, and it's a few minutes drive to M&S, Lidl & Boots at Hayle roundabout. St Ives with its wonderful galleries, shops and restaurants is only 15 minutes by car (though you might want to take the short train ride from nearby St Erth to avoid the traffic and parking in St Ives!). With easy access to the A30, Wyndward also makes a great location for exploring further afield.

About the host
Hosted by Rebecca Gaunt

We are a family of five from Winchester, with children aged 10, 6 & 2. We’ve been holidaying around Gwithian for years, after falling in love with the wildness of the dunes, far-reaching views and picture-perfect Godrevy Lighthouse. We started dreaming of a little place by the sea of our own, and chose this for its direct access and views of the dunes.
