Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Only a short walk to a fabulous choice of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops in the pretty market town of Morpeth dating back to 1080 and set in a wonderful area of Northumberland. Wellwood Cottage is ideal for up to three people with a warm and comfortable interior space. The living room has a large wall mounted tv with built in DVD and there is a great choice of DVDs for those cooler evenings, with a living flame electric fire to cosy around.
An on-Street Parking Permit is provided with the accommodation and private parking is provided at Wellwood Cottage to the rear. A short walk takes you to the historic 13th century Chantry housing a selection of local handicrafts and a tourist info centre, take a stroll along the riverside and perhaps hire a little rowing boat on a sunny day. Discover some of the quaint cobbled streets, and market square all of which give this friendly town a charming antiquity and showcases its Yes heritage and beauty.
Carlisle Park is awash with colour in the spring and summer and a popular place to see some of the locals. For explorers wishing to discover the hidden delights of Northumberland, Morpeth is close to the main A1 making travelling in all directions quick and effortless so a visit to Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman Forts make a lovely day out. Head North up to the delightful Heritage Coast with miles of golden beaches and historic sites and castles.
