We stayed here for 6 days as we needed to change from the original apartment we had booked. The apartment is very clean, very modern and comfortable although the beds were very firm! The view is limited but it’s nice to sit on the balcony and watch the geese and swans go by. Location is great, only 5 mins from the main town centre and yet quiet, there’s a lift if you want to use it and the concierge is very helpful. There’s a Tesco, Sainsbury and Co-op all with 7 mins walk so essentials are easy to find and they are all open late. There’s a parking space but we didn’t use it and used public transport to get around. All the local attractions are worth a visit e.g. the Jorvik Centre, the Railway Museum (if that interest you), a walk around the wall, York Minster, The Clifford Tower and, of course, there’s shopping! We also took a train to Knaresborough for the day which took 30 mins by train and is a lovely place to potter around. There’s lots of places to eat - The Chopping Board - French, Il Paradiso Del Cibo - a family run Italian, both of these are 5 mins from the apartment and excellent. Another great restaurant is the Yak and Yeti restaurant in the city centre - Nepalese and a Sunday roast at The Botanist in the centre of York, both of these were excellent too although you will need to book all restaurants in advance especially at weekends.
We very much enjoyed our stay in this great apartment which we would recommend.
