Overall we had a great stay at this property. We had a large group of friends with young children and it suited us really well. 4-5 Good beaches nearby, one within walking distance. We were also lucky with the weather which always helps. Would recommend and would stay again.
Just returned from a lovely holiday in the old vicarage. What a beautiful place to stay. Everything is as it is described on the website and better from start to finish matt and irena made the whole process esay. From a wonderful welcome pack to all the best places to eat and drink. The house is beautiful with plenty of room there was twelve of us but never felt on top of each other. The wellness area is a tribute to matt and irena hard work to make this a special place to stay. One last thing, you must make the effort to make the pizza's the are devine. Once again thank you matt and irena for letting us share your beautiful home we have taken some wonderful memories away with us. Regards Jonathan.
Perfect house for a beach holiday. Loads of room to have you're own space in house.

second time we stayed, just booked the third
This is the second time we've stayed at the property and even though it was perfect last time the owners have added even more features with a child's play house and trampoline which was great for keeping the kids entertained while the adults enjoyed a glass of wine on the terrace.
We went as a mixed group with some small children and the house is well set up with a child's play room equipped with all the toys you need to keep them entertained while we put the BBQ and pizza oven to good use.
The location is also perfect for getting to some of the local beach's including Porth which is a short walk away.
I cannot recommend enough

Fantastic holiday home that didn't disappoint!
We arrived at The Old Vicarage as a family of 12 on Saturday afternoon. We usually stay in a caravan each year but decided on a change this time. First impressions of the house was that it was bigger than it looked in the pictures and the back garden was amazing. A pizza oven, barbecue, hobbit house, trampoline and outdoor sauna...we knew we had struck gold! Inside didn't disappoint either. Matt and Irena had left a generous welcome package and card that made us feel instantly at home. Everything in the kitchen was labelled, which saved time trying to find things in different drawers and the cupboards were well stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, herbs, spices and oils. In the welcome package was suggestions of what to do and where to go and we had a fabulous take out from the local curry place and a trip to the beach as a result. The house itself is well maintained and very spacious but the most special part is that it has a real family feel to it, so you never felt like you couldn't relax...quite the opposite! It was lovely to come 'home' after a day at the beach and put your feet up, listen to some music and wait for dinner to be cooked. Each bathroom had shampoo and conditioner provided and there were plenty of toilet rolls/kitchen rolls and cleaning stuff available too. The framed artwork in each room is defo worth a look also. Matt and Irena were fantastic at getting back to us with any questions we had and nothing was too much trouble. We had three young children with us and they enjoyed the toy room and the outdoors especially. Nanna and Grandad had the annex and were delighted to have their own space, with all the amenities of a house. The fact they had a hiding place from the grandkids was an added bonus! All in all we had a wonderful holiday and we will definitely return to The Old Vicarage. Thank you again Matt and Irena for letting us stay in your beautiful home :)

Beautiful property in a very convenient location
Just wonderful. Beautiful house in grounds that are full of sunshine dawn to dusk. Plenty of room to gather together or find a quiet nook to take a moment. The bedrooms all have gorgeous views and all the double rooms have a lovely chaise to chill and read a book or just enjoy the views over the fields and church. How lovely to sit on a sunlit patio with a glass of bubbly listening to the church bells whilst the kids are working of their energy on the trampoline ? . Porth beach is 10 minutes down a path at the end of the garden and there is a a great local pub less than 5 minutes in the other direction. Fab food - honestly! Go to Newquay if you have to but preferably visit whipsiderry and porth island and celebrate the fact you can leave your car at home to do so
The kitchen is great for cooking (large range master) and dishwasher but we loved the ceremony of theoutdoor pizza oven.
Yes the weather was kind to us but we had a stay at home day at the kids request and between the films-sauna-games and "toys" we could have filled all week happily without leaving the house
Matthew and Irena couldn't have been more helpful and this is clearly a home that is built on love and family
We hope to return next year

Perfect for a large family group
This was the perfect place to stay,Matthew and Irena have taken a great deal of pride in the house which was obviously more of a family home than the standard rental property.
The location couldn't be better, Newquay is close by and a easy taxi ride after a night out and Porth beach is a nice walk with many of the surf beaches a short drive away.
I would recommend this property without reservation, it made for a wonderful holiday

Fabulous holiday home
We spent 2 wonderful weeks here with friends. What an amazing house, 10 minutes walk to beautiful Porth beach and everything we could need in the house. Beautiful home in which to relax, chill out, enjoy BBQ and Pizza, sit in the sun and plan great days out nearby. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent Holiday Home
This is a very large and wonderfully presented house. The acommodation is vast and very nicely decorated and furnished. We stayed as a large family group, with parents/children in the 5 x bedrooms in the main house, and my Mum & Dad in their 70's stayed in the attached annex which is self-contained, giving them a well deserved bit of peace and quiet. It is impossible to fault this place. The location is fine, 10 mins walk or 5 mins drive to Porth beach, 10 mins drive to the center of Newquay, good pub 2 mins walk, pasty & coffee shop 5 mins drive. Lovely welcome pack from owner added to the feel good holiday feeling. Most highly recommended. (And try the Pizza oven in the garden, works a treat!)

Good Family Accommodation
We were a party of seven adults two children and a baby. The house was large, clean and well provisioned and completely suitable for a group of our size. The children's play room was very popular with the two younger members of our group. Outside there were large grassed areas and a beautiful patio with a barbecue pit. There was a generous welcome pack and the Hills had provided lots of information to make our stay rewarding and enjoyable. Porth beach was about 15 minutes walk and, for the less energetic, it was possible to park on the beach. The beach was perfect for families being wide and sandy, with life-guards who were very proactive, a cafe and toilets. The local pub was two minutes walk away and sold good beer and nice meals. We had two days of bad weather but the house was well located for the families in our group to access other local tourist attractions. I would definitely book this accommodation again if I were going to Cornwall and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for good quality comfortable accommodation in this part of Cornwall.

Perfect large house for a Cornish getaway
The Old Vicarage was simply stunning. Having stayed in many different houses along the North Coast over the years it is difficult to fault the Old Vicarage. Loads of space, loads to do both inside and out and excellent, considerate hosts who have thought of everything for you. We can't wait to return and hope to do so next year if possible.

Fabulous Holiday Home For Family and Friends
We were a party of 9 adults and 3 children plus baby in cot.
Everything was provided for us a truly home from home experience and more. Garden and playroom/cinema was equipped with everything to keep young ones happy and entertained every evening. Fantastic location a week was not long enough we never got the chance to use the pizza oven or BBQ. The children loved the Zoo, Springfields, Aquarium and beaches. The owners Irena and Matt were very attentive and provide lots of information that would be tailored to your needs.
We loved our stay in 'The Old Vicarage' .

fabulous accommodation
Stay for a week with 5 adults and 5 children of varying ages. This property is huge and we never felt on top of each other. It is a fabulous house and has everything you need. Was lovely to come back after a day out and be able to prepare food in the fully equipped kitchen or use the pizza oven and bbq. The playroom was great as a cinema room in the evening for the children and all enjoyed the garden. We used the body board down the beach ( was surf boards too) and was great to be able to stroll down to the beach. Also used the coastal path to walk to Newquay which took about 30 minutes. The pub at the end of the lane is a very handy addition! Overall, this house clearly has the feeling of a home and the owners had really made sure we enjoyed our holiday....a lovely welcome pack with wine and treats , plenty of towels, ingredients to make pizzas for the pizza oven etc. Would highly recommend and none of us wanted to leave!!

Why they chose this property
We like to think it's a beautiful house in a great location. We have lived here for 9 years and each year we try and make it better.
What makes this property unique
Not many houses have a Nordic wellness area in Cornwall. You've also got large gardens which are ideal for children.
