Ganz klar keine Empfehlung

Zu den Problemen mit der Wohnung ließe sich ein Roman schreiben. Das Problem ist nicht die Nähe zum Flughafen, denn das ist vorher bekannt. Das Problem ist, dass die Wohnung in allen erdenklichen Punkten eher Sub-Standard ist. Sehr schmutzige Fenster, Fenster schließen nicht und die fingerbreiten Lücken werden mit Papier ausgestopft. Garten verwarlost, man spült das Geschirr vor (!) der Nutzung und kauft dafür mal selbst Schwämme, weil die vorhandenen dreckig sind, der Kühlschrank stinkt, auf dem Klo kann man als große Person nicht sitzen, weil die ganze Konstruktion so sebst zusammengebastelt ist, die Klotürklinke fällt ab, weil die Holzschrauben nicht mehr halten, Wäscheständer kippt wegen fehlendem Rad, mehrere Bettroste sind durchgebogen und es fehlen darin Latten. Kann man sich selbst dann so umbauen wie es am wenigsten stört. Es ließe sich fortsetzen. Der übertrieben große Fernseher zeigt wie die Prioritäten sind. Das sind alles lösbare Probleme, wenn man will. Solange die Ferienwohnung Geld abwirft, fehlt offensichtlich der Wille. Entsprechend ist die Kommunikation dann auch nicht die Beste. Positiv ist die verkehrsgünstige Lage. PS: Wir leben selbst in einer Großstadt und hatten diverse Ferienwohnungen in London.

Disappointed - do not recommend to families

Our family was surprised and very uncomfortable with the neighbourhood. The listing did not reflect the “family friendly, quiet” neighbourhood that John told us it was. As we arrived (on a Sunday afternoon) we passed groups of people loitering, playing loud music, stumbling, and a police presence one block up from the listing. The front door is glass, which the owner painted white. The door was very difficult to lock as we left. None of this left us feeling safe or secure using John’s property. We made the decision to find a hotel because of the uneasy feeling the three adults had about safety. We contacted John to explain the situation and discuss a fair resolution. He did not respond. We got VRBO involved and I finally heard back from him to which he explained that he would not issue a refund (even a partial one) and that our concerns about safety/security of the property were our own.
