Apartment with charm and personality, spacious, typical of the Eixample Izquierda neighborhood of Barcelona. Quiet area, well located, well connected, 5 minutes from the metro. Good bars and restaurants in the area.

The apartment has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, an equipped kitchen, and a living-dining room with balconies where a lot of natural light enters. With floors typical of Catalan modernism, this recently renovated apartment (December 2016) has wanted to maintain the personality of Barcelona at the beginning of the century, but bringing a contemporary international style.

Elegance, color, comfort, these are the maxim of this apartment.

The apartment is on the first floor of the building (third real floor), with a lift (old and historically listed).

No parties: Strictly no parties are allowed in this apartment as the apartment is located in a residential building. If you are coming to party, please book elsewhere.

No noise at night: Excessive noise is not allowed after 22hs/10PM as the apartment is located in a residential building until 8hs/8AM the next morning.

The apartment has a NoiseAlarm installed: This device only measures the noise volume level and sends an alert when the set maximum limit is exceeded. By measuring only sound pressure, NoiseAlarm does not record any audio, video or conversation, and offers 100% privacy to guests.

This system helps to make tourism more sustainable. If you do not respect these rules, we reserve the right to ask you to leave immediately, as the relationship with our neighbors is of utmost importance to us.

Late check-in: If you arrive after hours, please note that a late check-in fee will be charged. If you arrive after 22/8pm the fee is 20€, and after 24/12am the fee is 50€.

If a guest loses a set of keys during their stay, a charge of €80 will be applied.

Please note that if you book at the last minute (less than 24 hours before your arrival), the official check-in time will be subject to our availability and will be after 16:00.

Lots of potential but tough to recommend

Some good things: Good area, good space for a family of 4, GREAT water pressure during showers, near a subway stop. Now the 3 Major Flaws: 1. The outside has scaffolding, so the view was blocked…we couldn’t have a glass of wine at night and enjoy view…also the construction guys cutting tile 6 feet from my head starting at 8am wasn’t nice after a long Barcelona night. 2. The 3 air conditioners didn’t work because they force them off if the temp isn’t over 78 degrees…not even the fans can be turned on. Well it was 75 and I was sweating while sleeping. 3. There are bars directly below and as is the Spanish culture they stay up late and are loud…FYI.

The Site Photo and Amenities Listing are Misleading

We were sorely disappointed in the place as it looked nothing like the photo that showed clear views out of the living room/dining room window. Beware! As of May 3 - 8 the entire front of the building was covered in scaffolding, netting, and the dust. Our "balcony" (one of the amenities we specific searched for: "Outdoor Space") was inaccessible because of construction on the facade of the building. When we looked out our living room windows (the only room with the view shown on the site) we saw a dusty, dirty construction site. When I messaged the property manager of Stay Unique, they said they had mentioned that in the ad: "Some construction is going on that may affect your stay and the apartment was discounted...". I don't think that statement captures what we viewed upon arrival. Further, the cost of the apartment was in line with our other searches and there was not statement when we viewed it that said we were getting a discount due to the construction. When I said the photos on the site were misleading they replied they were "Old photos." and were not open to providing a new place or discounting our stay. I see that they still have the same photos up on their site. Given their response to our concerns and how they are knowingly misleading in their ad, I would not recommend booking with them. Location is fantastic: Eixample is a great neighborhood with wonderful nearby restaurants/cafes and close to a subway station. If VRBO wants to see pictures, I can provide.

Nice stay!

We were a family of 6 and this flat was a good choice - the walking distance was ok to discover Barcelona. A dishwasher would have been appreciated in this kind of flat. The water system also makes a lot of noise and the big avenue next to the flat can get noisy. The flat is well furnished with bedding and towels.

Nice place, good location, lots of noise

We had my wife and our two kids ages 18 & 20 in this apartment. It was a little cramped with only one small bathroom, but the location was good. We walked to most attractions (La Sagrada Familia, Casa Battlo, La Rambla, La Boqueria). Interior was nice and had french windows/doors that opened up to the street making it feel warm and light. The only and biggest negative of this place was the noise level from the street and internal vestibule. There are two restaurants and a bar directly below the apartment that are very popular and only have outdoor seating. They close at 1:00am on weekends and 11:00pm on weekdays. It is really, really loud. You obviously can't keep the windows open, so it also gets hot and stuffy in the rooms. Two of the three rooms have air conditioning, but they've set it to only work above a certain temp, so can't use them to provide white noise to offset the bar and street noise. Once the bars close you hear a steady stream of drunk people until 3:00am and nonstop scooters, cars and sirens. We unfortunately dreaded returning to the apartment and would stay away until as late at night as possible. We got very little sleep and looked forward to our last night here. This place is only for hardened city dwellers.

Excellent apartment for our stay in Barcelona

My wife, 15 year old son, his friend, and I stayed at L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample for a week for a work trip that also involved sightseeing in Barcelona. The managers were very responsive to our communications, allowed us to drop off our luggage before check-in, made excellent suggestions for restaurants, and were fair in resolving a noise issue arising from construction in the building. The apartment was clean, well-lit, and large given its location in the middle of the city. It has a beautiful balcony. We also appreciated the AC since Barcelona and much of Europe was going through an unprecedented heat wave while we were there. The location was perfect. We have previously stayed in the Gothic area, which can get a bit overwhelming at times. This location is in a more residential area while remaining in the heart of the city. It is an easy walk or metro ride to all of the major hotspots. A metro station is two blocks away. We would stay here again.
