We enjoyed our stay at the Captain's House on lake Granbury it was quite and relaxing a beautiful historic home.
Just a short walk to Granbury courthouse square with unique shops and several restaurants.
My husband and I stayed here for three nights and we loved it! The house is beautiful and historic. Tina was amazing and so helpful. The view of the lake was awesome and so was the walk ability to the square and a beautiful park! We highly recommend and we will return to stay!
Comfortable and beautiful. The hosts are so kind and attentive. I’ve stayed several times and hope to stay again at Captain’s House. Just a few blocks to downtown Granbury so walking is easy and driving is not far.
This location is amazing! Perfect walk to the exciting downtown area. Many places to eat and enjoy live music. Back at the Captain’s house you enjoy a selection of venues to enjoy the beautiful Lake Granbury. We even enjoyed our private balcony view from various directions! And don’t miss out the personal spectacular breakfast delights!! We will visit again!
Delicious breakfast. Beautifully decorated house. Comfy bed. Great view of the lake from our upstairs suite. Husband loved the coffee bar. Just a couple blocks walk from the square. We had a wonderful weekend.
This is a wonderful old house. It’s so nice to stay in a place that is quiet and unusual. It also has a great view of the lake, and I enjoyed walking down to the sidewalk on the retaining wall to enjoy the sunset and sunrise. I had the waterfront all to myself! The house is in a neighborhood, and I walked two or three blocks to get to the main square with plenty of eating choices. The hosts did a great job of answering my questions and made sure that I had what I needed.
Absolutely lovely! We enjoyed our stay! Everything was clean and organized. Easy check in. If the wind wasn’t chaotic we would’ve enjoyed the fire pit overlooking the lake. The fresh pastry and fruit in the morning is a very nice touch. I loved having coffee in the common area and just relaxing. A 5 minute walk to the square makes the Captains House a perfect location.
We needed a quick getaway from the stress of work and the pandemic and we got just that and soo much more! We only stayed a night but really enjoyed our stay. Tina and Tony were amazing hosts and made sure we got what we needed. The rooms were comfortable and soo beautiful! And the town was so festive with their Christmas decorations being set up already. We can definitely recommend this place and even come back next time! Thank you so much!
Quaint old Victorian with a nice balcony view of lake. Small bed plus daybed. Charming common area. Would be nice if the bathroom had some ventilation and a bar or two of soap. Manager very helpful and congenial. Zero hassles, easy peasy. Very convenient to the town square. Complimentary breakfast cafe excellent.
We loved staying at Captain’s House. Seriously so quiet, cozy and clean. We were in the Trenholm Suite and it couldn’t have been better. TV in both rooms with daybed in second room. Beautiful views. We felt like we were staying at our family’s home it was so comfortable. Nice light breakfast delivered outside your door in the morning. We walked to the square and our car stayed parked the entire time. We will stay here again next visit to Granbury. Thank you to our host!!!
The house was impeccable. It's charm was overwhelming. The hosts were present on the property, but never needed. Check in was scheduled and Tony graciously oriented us to where everything was and offered us many suggestions for what was available locally. We were within walking distance to the square which was wonderful because we had tickets to a play at the Granbury Opera House and Granbury Live. And, made some time to sit on the porch and enjoy the spectacular view of the lake. It was a perfect weekend!
We had a quick stay but it was worth the money. Next time I want to stay for at least a week! The Captians House was absolutely beautiful! Our rooms were upstairs and just walking through the house was like stepping back in time. It has all the charm and history but with the modern comforts! This was our second time staying in Grandury the first time we stayed at the Hilton, the Captians House was the same price and way better, very clean and bed was very comfortable. Located within walking distance of the town square and our favorite German Restaurant. Tina made our check in super easy! We will be back!
This is an amazing home full of charm and history, but still modern enough for a very enjoyable stay. Super close to the square, I walked every time. The view of the lake is gorgeous, the front porch and back porch are both so beautiful and peaceful. It was very quiet. I was able to get so much work done, but still had time for relaxing and eating dinner in the square. I love this town and this home, I'll definitely be back! It even snowed New Year's Eve while I was there. It felt likea real life Hallmark Movie. Oh and the breakfast and coffee bar were amazing!
My friend and I stayed for the weekend of September 28 to October 1. We attended the Paranormal Expo in the town square. It was only 2 blocks walking distance, so that was very nice for my MS and my friends night blindness. The room was beautiful and they told us the history of the house as we walked to the room. The room had a lovely sleigh bed in it and the sitting parlor had a day bed with trundle, so there was plenty of space. They brought us a continental breakfast every morning and there was a small fridge, just outside the door for us. We had a Keurig coffee maker so we had coffee anytime my friend needed it. The bathroom was nice and big so I could do my Corpse Bride and Dead Doll costume make-up and my friend could shower. It was great since the make-up took 6 hours and 3 hours respectively. We had a great time at the expo and if we got to hot or had to much stuff in our hands we could just go back to the room, it was so close. It was a great weekend and I recommend the Captain's House to everyone. It is a tad bit expensive, but worth it, I think. Thank you for a wonderful place to lay our heads.
