Great location overlooking Buxton down the valley. It is remote but not far from anywhere. The hosts Carol and Alan were welcoming and helpful. The property was ideal for a couple to have a nice relaxing stay.

Such a unique and awesome property steeped in history and character. Although the weather was horrendous, we stsyed in, played some board games that were available and made some meals and had some quality time together. The decor was amazing and well kept. Fully equipped kitchen with some luxury cutlery and the hosts left some essentials such as eggs, bread, milk, cereals and biscuits. Definitely worth the money. Will stay again one day I hope!
This was ideally placed in the middle of places I wanted to visit. They had thoughtfully put the heating on the bathroom as it had been a cool day and also food in the fridge. Cottage had everything that is needed and more. Will not hesitate to book again.
Booked for my parents, they loved ot, really clean and comfortable

Absolutely wonderful stay. We did not want to leave! The hosts were very lovely and welcoming. And the pictures on the website don't do the house justice! It was really lovely.
If it was possible to give this property more than five stars it would more than deserve it. Spotlessly clean, superb top quality furniture and furnishings, Medieval theme but with all mod cons, (and an Alice in Wonderland back story), every kitchen utensil you could think of, and some you wouldn't have thought of, and even foodstuffs, bread, milk, eggs etc supplied. On top of all this, Alan and Carole are a really friendly couple to chat to. My wife, Christine, and I have stayed in quite a number of self catering cottages and cabins over the years, and this is the best by far in every respect. If this all sounds a little over the top, believe me it isn't.
Property was even better than the photos. Alan & Carol are the perfect hosts and have gone out of their way to provide everything that you need for a break, just wish we could have stayed longer!
Easy to find and easier to relax. Private and secluded space and ideal weather, we were extremely lucky. Would definitely recommend The Keep and look forward to a return visit. Thank you both for making us so welcome.
