About this property

Luxury cosy countryside retreat, great for walkers. Sleeps up to 4.

Kick of your shoes and relax from the stresses everyday life. On the edge of Shropshire AONB, overlooking the Welsh border, In the Hills is a self-catering cottage nestled against Corndon Hill in the hamlet of Priest Weston. This former store barn is the perfect base for walking the Shropshire Hills and Offa’s Dyke, cycling or visiting nearby historic towns. Or just relax and do nothing. Listen to the birds and sheep and watch the beautiful sunset over the hills.
This upside cottage is suitable for up to 4 guests and is equipped to a high standard. The downstairs bedroom has a king-size bed and French doors opening out on to your private deck and garden. There’s even a pear tree to pick your own pears!
The bathroom opposite the bedroom has a full-size bath and monsoon shower. Great for unwinding after a day exploring.
Upstairs there’s an open plan living and kitchen area with panoramic views down the valley. The kitchen is fully equipped, including dishwasher and microwave. There is also a log burner for those cosy nights in and a sofa bed if 4 of you are staying.
Although next to the owners property the cottage and garden are completely private. The garden has a decking area leading to a terrace sun trap with furniture and bbq/fire pit. There’s a large secluded lawn and great views down the valley.
To the front is your own access and ample off road parking for up to three vehicles and a side access to your garden. A store shed is available for secure storage of bicycles. An outside socket is provided which is rated for the charging of EV’s (there is an additional charge for this service).
In nearby Churchstoke there is a Co-op supermarket and fuel station that has all the provisions you’ll need for your stay.

Stunning View & Attention to Detail

This property is in a beautiful location. The owners have thought of everything and it was immaculately clean. There were homemade cakes on arrival with a pint of milk and tea/coffee. The kitchen was very well equipped and soft furnishings, bed linen & towels all of good quality. Lovely self contained garden. Really could not fault anything.

Splendid

We had a wonderful time at his location. Beautiful and well-equipped apartment. Martin and Kate were wonderful owners and gave us a warm welcome. Martins help to get our delayed luggage transferred from the airport was way beyond the usual curtesy of a landlord.

Fabulous weekend break in a lovely cottage

The cottage was so lovely, better than the photos. Amazing view and equipped with everything you would need and more. Extremely comfy bed and sofa, everything felt brand new. Private garden and patio area which was lovely. Great location, good little pub 2 minutes walk with very good pizzas on Wednesdays and Fridays. Good Chinese takeaway 5 mins drive away too. Lots of quaint villages close by and great walks for all abilities. We didn’t want to leave and would highly recommend. Lovely homemade cakes on arrival were thoroughly enjoyed.

We love the calm and tranquillity of this area having moved from nearby Shrewsbury. Previously we owned and ran an artisan bakery in Shrewsbury and now bake real bread in our wood fired bread oven in the garden. We hope to have a bakery school in the future.

We will leave you to enjoy the space, but if you want us we are just next door if you need information about the local area or anything else. When we are not working we will mostly be gardening or enjoying just living here.
