The Invergarry Highland Games are held on the first Saturday in July, and the Great Glen Way passes through the town, allowing walkers to trek from Fort William to Inverness without ever setting foot on a road. Fort Augustus, located at the southwest end of Loch Ness on a section of the Caledonian Canel, is within driving distance and offers a variety of stores, pubs, and restaurants, while the towns of Fort William and Aviemore are also worth visiting.
