Ireby is right on the border of the Lake District National Park, in fact the border crosses about twenty steps from the door. From here there are lovely walks and cycle routes nearby. If you love the outdoors, this village is in a prime location, well connected by the road networks, you’re just a short drive to many of the amazing towns and tourist hotspots that the Northern Lakes has to offer. Just 10 minutes to Bassenthwaite, 5 miles, 20 minutes to Keswick and Cockermouth, 12 miles. If you fancy being more active, the Lake District Fells’ renowned walking and cycling trails are on your doorstep offering both gentle and more challenging endeavours enabling you to take in the abundance of birds and wildlife this area has to offer. The historic, alluring village of Bassenthwaite with its magnificent lake and access to Skiddaw, one of the highest mountains in England, is a 10-minute drive. The village is served by a farm shop selling fresh milk and seasonal produce. Beach 15 miles.
