About this property
Screel View - a lodge that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms
Screel View is set on the hillside above Kippford with panoramic views over the Urr estuary to Screel Hill from the living area and attractive decked area. The setting offers peace and tranquillity making Screel View an ideal place to rest and recharge but is also perfect if you are looking for water sports or strenuous mountain bike trails. The lodge provides spacious family holiday accommodation and is comfortably furnished with all you need for a relaxing holiday. The modern design ensures that there is plenty of natural light and also has a cosy feel whatever the weather; a particular feature for summer months are the three sets of double doors leading to the decking with its sweeping views.
There are walks from the door connecting to community woodland and also a network of scenic pathways over National Trust of Scotland land to Rockcliffe. The centre of Kippford is about a 10 minute walk with its slipway, sailing facilities, coastal walks, shop and two pubs, both of which serve food.
Dalbeattie woods with more walks and the 7Stanes mountain bike trails is about 2 miles away and it is only a short drive to numerous sandy beaches, Galloway Forest (Britain's first nominated Dark Sky Park), loch and river fishing, hill walking, numerous golf courses including the championship 18 hole course at Southerness, along with the RSPB reserve at Mersehead and numerous cultural attractions in the area including Castles, Abbeys and Gardens.
