Nestled in a secluded hedged garden, in the private grounds of a Victorian Rectory, lies a perfect and cosy Shepherd’s hut, the ideal location to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We are excited to welcome you to our idyllic rural retreat in South West Somerset. We have recently created a bespoke fully heated and insulated Shepherd’s Hut, furnishing it with antiques and our favourite vintage pieces from the local area. The hut is incredibly light and airy with pretty views of your secluded garden. We live in the Rectory with our two dogs and a cat. We will leave you in peace to enjoy your stay but if you have any questions we are on hand to answer them. The Hut has a fully equipped kitchen area, a separate en suite bathroom with a shower and WC. There is a comfortable double bed with plenty of storage below. The hut is insulated with a an efficient underfloor heating system so is very comfortable all year round. It is the perfect location for a couple or solo traveler looking for somewhere with all the modern conveniences whilst also remaining unique, a tad quirky and allowing you to connect to nature. The Area: 30 minutes to the nearest beach, the Hut is the ideal location to explore everything from the rugged and wild Jurassic Coast, to a number of beautiful stately homes and gardens. There are also fantastic walks from the house. We have created a comprehensive guide to the area with all our favourite things to do, see and eat and are always happy to answer any questions you may have. We love the hut and hope you will too and will do everything we can to ensure that you have a happy trip in the South West.

Wanted some cheap basic accommodation for 2 nights. Found it eventually after driving through the narrow lanes some of which weren't signposted very well but adds to the fun!. Very neat and cosey and the bed was particularly comfortable. Nicely laid out with some nice touches. Ideal if you want some peace and quiet as it is tucked away at the back of the village in what used to be an old veg garden.

It's a beautiful place to stay, perfect for a "get away from it all" break. The hosts have put a lot of thought into making it lovely
This was a gem of a stay, from the setting of the shepherd's hut, to the amazingly comfortable bed. Everything had a place due to clever design, and although a small space, the hut felt light & airy! The best thing was having breakfast outside in the morning and enjoying it in our own peaceful garden surrounded by the orchard...a magical slice of the West Country!
A truly peaceful location that was very accurate in its description. Who needs wi fi when you have complete peace a ginger cat, 2 dogs and Heather.
For anyone looking for a retreat this is it and only 50 minutes from Exeter.
We had such a lovely time! Heather and Angus are wonderful hosts and the cabin is immaculate! We went for walks around the local area, sat under the oak tree in the church and found some peace, drove to local beaches as suggested by Heather and enjoyed our tea in the green house under the twinkly lights in there. Heather could not have been more helpful when booking and Angus was always on hand during our stay, we would stay here or in the stable lodge in a heartbeat. Just what we needed before we embark on one of life’s adventures in our personal life!
Everything about this place was wonderful! Lovely hosts, great communication and perfectly situated for a quiet and peaceful short break. We shall definitely be staying here again
We absolutely loved our stay in the shepherds hut! The photos on the website are a true representation and we honestly could not fault anything or even offer any suggestions of improvement, it was exactly what we had hoped for! Great information pack in the hut offering suggestions on where to go and Heather was available to help if needed too, however the garden was secluded so you had your privacy too. We fell a little bit in love with Pip, Maple and big Ron too who were always on hand for tummy rubs and play time! Thanks Heather and family, we hope to return again soon.
