About this property

Little red cabin on Casper Mountain

Great quiet get away on top of Casper Mountain. Rustic cabin with remodeled upstairs including new floors and paint over winter of 2021. 3 Bedroom, 1 bath, upstairs/downstairs with spectacular views of the town. Sleeps 3 max; best for one couple, or 3 adults, or family with one or two kids. It DOES NOT work for two couples. Kitchen with stove, fridge, dishes, coffee maker. Deck with table/chairs and BBQ. Located at top of a popular hike with a beautiful waterfall. 10 minutes from downtown restaurants, museums and Platte river. Nice place for couple or small families who like the outdoors. It is rustic - NO INTERNET; NO WIFI. The cabin DOES get phone service on your cell phone with AT&T. TV works if you have netflix, apple TV accounts that you stream via cellular data or dowloaded items through your phone on to the TV. Downstairs has a mudroom, washer and dryer, and one bedroom with a single childs twin bed. Fairly steep stairs to upstairs but can access upstairs from kitchen door. Upstairs has kitchen, main living room, small bathroom, and two bedrooms; one with king, other with full. Parking for 1 car in lot right by cabin off the main Casper mountain road. No pets, no parties, and no smoking, maximum 3 adults overnight, no exceptions. Cabin is on septic so it is necessary to be careful with toilet and anything going down the drains.

Amazing!

Oh, the view! Driving up Casper Mountain feels like Mother Nature is rolling out the red carpet just for you. Every morning, the mountain offers a front-row seat to a spectacular show of fresh air, stunning scenery, and a Bridle trail hike so refreshing it could make you forget that elevators even exist. And then there's coffee and breakfast on the deck—honestly, what better way to start your day than with a warm brew while the mountains show off their natural beauty in the background? Living your best life, indeed! Thank you, little red cabin!

Slice of Heaven

This is my second time staying at this property and my experience was just as wonderful as the first time. As I sat on the deck each morning I was surrounded by the glory of God's creation. The sound of the wind blowing in the trees and the creek flowing below was sooo peaceful. I enjoyed hiking off the trails by the house, SUPing at nearby Alcova Lake and just taking in the beauty of the mountain. The home has everything you need including a well-stocked kitchen and laundry. I was able to use my phone as a hot spot for work. I also downloaded a few seasons off Netflix and used the Apple Lightning to HDMI AV Adapter (I couldn't figure out the apple TV without wifi) and it worked like a charm. The communication with the owners is always great. I love staying here and will be back!

Peaceful

This cabin is the perfect little getaway spot to unwind and surround yourself with nature, up on a mountain. It is peaceful and has just the right amount of view of the city below to see the beautiful night lights in the distance, without taking away from the serene feel of nature around you. We had 3 in our group, my husband and I, and our 17 year old daughter. We spent most of our time out on the deck playing cards. This is a great place to hide away, yet with a short 10-15 min ride into town for anything you could need. Small bathroom, but works for 3 people. Definitely would recommend.

Breathtaking Views

I had a wonderful stay! My son was staying at a summer camp nearby and to avoid the 4+ hr drive back to Colorado I decided to make a vacation out of it. Waking up to the sound of the river and the breathtaking views every morning was just incredible. The peace and quiet was just what I needed. Hiking trails right from the doorstep. The cabin was clean and comfortable. It truly was all about the VIEW. Incredible. Will definitely stay again next year if it's available! The host reached out to me to make sure my stay was going well and communication leading up to booking was great too.

Delightful and quaint

My grandparents came to visit me from Ohio and we stayed in the cabin for 5 days and we enjoyed every moment. The view of the hummingbirds at the feeders gave us constant entertainment. The kitchen and the whole house for that matter was well stocked for occupation. The heater worked like a dream and I slept like a baby. Everything was clean up on arrival and talking to the host was friendly and kind. My grandma wants to come back every time they visit.

Peaceful mountain cabin

We throughly enjoyed our 3 nights in the charming , but quirky “Little Red Cabin”. You are in a mountain setting, but Casper is conveniently close. I would highly recommend this cabin just for the view from the living room.

Love Little Red Cabin

Micheal and Kelley are wonderful hosts for a beautiful cabin on Casper Mountain! We had the MOST relaxing vacation we've ever had there. Walks on the Bridle Trail, stopping to see springs and waterfalls, sitting on deck to listen to Springs close by....holy buckets! And it's so close for us to visit our family that lives in Casper. We don't get to enjoy quiet, be among nature and our kids often. Was actually able to read an entire book, rare for me. The cabin was so clean, homey, and simplistically rustic decor had us wishing we could stay forever! It's worth our 8-9hr drive for sure!

Mountain escape

I had a wonderful stay at the cabin! It is an almost perfect balance of secluded yet convenient. Everything was clean, the kitchen was relatively well stocked. Kelley and Michael were accommodating and very responsive; they checked in to be sure everything was going well during my stay. The hike on the bridle path from the cabin was beautiful – the drive leads you to the Rotary Park bridle trails which are extensive enough to get down to the creek falls and back with a few different loops. They have a hummingbird feeder off the deck and there were a number of them buzzing around to watch. The afternoon sun on the deck was warm and I enjoyed watching the sun set and then all the city lights sparkling at night. The string lighting on the deck provided ample lighting after dark. I would stay here again.

This cabin is a gem with a mountain and town views! My son and I enjoyed every minute of our stay in Casper, thanks to Kelley and Michael! Little Red on Casper Mountain

We really enjoyed our golf getaway at the cabin. It is true to the advertisement. You should not have 2 couples due to the small bathroom, but a husband/wife and 2 children would be fine. Or just a quaint getaway for 2. Loved, loved, the patio and view during day and night. Great views of Casper and great trail behind to bridle trail. Thank you to the great hosts!

Peaceful and relaxing

My wife and I were looking for a few days away to enjoy the great outdoors in comfort. We found it here. The view is worth everything. It rained quite a bit which was refreshing and kept the temperatures down. With the big picture window we could just watch the weather roll in and out. Hummingbirds often stopped by their feeder along with a few chipmunks. This is an older cabin that has been remodeled. Don't go in expecting a 5 star hotel and you will be happy. They had reading materials, games, and more. We walked a short distance and was on a trail that leads down to a waterfall and then comes back to the private road. We will definitely keep this home in mind for the future. Winter could be pretty!

Very cool little spot.

We came to Casper from Yellowstone needing some rest. Both nights we just hung out and bbq'd. Very peaceful and restful. We fished the North Platte, caught fish, drove around the desert countryside. Exactly what we needed. Host's were responsive and had everything in order. Especially liked the deck and view. Thanks.
