Comfortable cottage in centre of lovely village

Looking to book a small cosy cottage with wood burner and large comfortable beds in village location and Swans Nest met our needs. It also had a bathroom for each of the two bedrooms as, at the weekend, our two daughters came to stay, So quite unusual to have these facilities for a small cottage and it also had a downstairs loo off the kitchen. Although wanting a log burner to sit by in the evening we only lit it a couple of times as the sitting room upstairs was so comfortable with lovely views we sat here most evenings. The kitchen area is very small but quite adequate for us as we ate out mostly - all the local pubs we went to served excellent food. The courtyard patio at the back of the kitchen caught the sun all day - we were very lucky with the weather. It was enclosed so our little dog couldnt escape. There was limited parking on the road outside but we managed to find a space most of the time but otherwise we parked in the centre of the village which wasnt a problem but would recommend arriving around 4ish on first night to unload your luggage. Bed linen of good quality and bathrooms seemed newly installed with the en-suite having a bath in the top bedroom and bedroom on first floor had bathroom next door with excellent large shower. Our two daughters loved the cottage too and we would definitely eturn. Management was also excellent

Superb

Swan's Nest is a real gem. We stayed for a long weekend and wished it could have been longer. The cottage is quirky and cosy with a touch of luxury. A perfect base to explore this beautiful part of the country, and a wonderful place to return to after a chilly walk. The service from Idyllic Cottages was excellent, from plenty of information before staying to friendly (email) checks during our stay and all was cleaned and maintained to a very high standard. The lovely, generous welcome pack was an added bonus. The only small downside was the on-street parking. We always managed to get a space, but not right outside. Thank you Charlie for providing such a lovely place to stay.

An ideal autumn treat

Brexit turned us away from Britain, but a tentative attempt at reconnecting with our former favourite country was a great success, not least because of the lovely accommodation Swan's Nest in Swan Street in Boxford: Very comfortable, full of atmosphere and a great 'base camp' for excursions to lovely spots in Suffolk. We'll be back - will you?

Wonderful place to unwind

We had a very quiet and peaceful week, the cottage is well placed and very comfortable. Initially it was cold but someone had switched off all the radiator sockets and once we found that out it warmed up adequately. All the local people we spoke to were very friendly and the village website has some lovely walks on the doorstep.

Lovely cottage

Great location in pretty village. Lovely, well-equipped cottage in peaceful location. Perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of Suffolk. Shame the village pub did not serve food during our stay but plenty of others close by.

Exceeded our expectations

Swan’ s Nest definitely exceeded our expectations. The cottage is beautifully decorated to a high standard and very well equipped. The beds are extremely comfortable with good quality linens and the kitchen has everything necessary. The welcome basket is a very nice touch.

Charming cottage on busy road in pretty village

Small immaculate cottage, on busy road in village. Kitchen tiny but adequate, oven door didn’t fit. Oddly contacted by agent to ask why a window was open and that our fuel economy wasn’t great! Felt we were being spied on!

Perfect

Swan’s Nest is a perfect home from home in an idyllic Suffolk village. The property is spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed - you’ll find everything you could possibly need during your stay … at the end of the day you can either sit in the first floor living room and enjoy the glorious view, or take your tipple in the lovely back garden … however you roll … this beautiful home will be just right for you!
